Traffic flows good most of the time.

Most times the traffic on the Newburgh Beacon Bridge flows fine now that most of the construction is over.

This bridge is better known as the Newburgh Beacon Bridge. It's a good example of a continuous truss bridge.

This is the main route that carries Route 84 from Hartford, CT to Wilkes-Barre PA. The view from the top is amazing and after reading the reviews here, I need to try to walk it some clear day to take pictures. I can imagine it would be very noisy walking the bridge as many tractor trailers use the bridge due... More

Traveling on Rt. 84 East, this bridge takes you across the Hudson River from Newburgh to Beacon, NY in Duchess County and continues on into CT. It is heavily used during work hours in the AM & PM but is pleasant most of the time. As a passenger, you get to enjoy some nice views up & down the Hudson... More

This bridge is one of many across the beautiful Hudson River. This is a popular crossing, being one of the main routes across. One should expect there to be traffic on this bridge, heavy during peak hours.

It is a nice walk across the bridge. Some scenic pictures can be taken. Right now they are replacing the roadbed on the bridge, so if you like to see what bridge construction looks like, it is here in spades. ...Ron

Travel with caution, bridge getting a new surface. Under repair right now for about 2 years. Slow going. Disliked the holdups, but can not avoid.

First off, locals refer to this as the "Newburgh-Beacon Bridge"! Nobody I know, including the New York State Bridge Authority and Department of Transportation, calls it the "Hamilton Fish Bridge". If you are from out of town and ask, "how do I get to the Hamilton Fish Bridge?” more likely than not that person will have no idea what you... More

3 miles roundtrip, and it's a big hill. Lot's of wind the whole way, but beautiful views. Noisy, though!

Picturesque views while walking, running or riding a bike. It is very soothing to be near the water. Walkway shakes a little during high traffic. No dogs allowed.
