Owner description: At over 3,000 square feet, the DM Weil Gallery may be the largest modern art gallery in New York's Hudson Valley. Just a short drive from the center of picturesque New Paltz, the DM Weil Gallery offers the look and vibe of an exclusive Soho style exhibition space, but with the majestic Shawangunk mountains as a backdrop. While the art on the walls -- the eye-popping abstract creations of acclaimed painter DM Weil -- has been praised by critics and collectors alike, the gallery's mission statement remains, "Why Can't Fine Art Be Fun?"

Visited over Thanksgiving and the gallery is something else. Open space, high ceilings, large colorful, exciting art....I had a great time. As luck would have it they were having a black friday sale and I had to take advantage. Now I own my first contemporary piece...Happy Christmas for me! Donna, the artist spent so much time with me so she... More

New Paltz has several great sights: an outstanding example is DM Weil gallery and (when the artist's studio is open - weekends only) the next-door studio. All this without the SoHo attitude. Ken is a most gracious and loquacious host.

Visited this gallery for a second time recently during an artist tour of the area. Just like the first visit Donna (the artist) and Ken (manager) were accommodating and generous with their time. New pieces were being displayed on the walls and easels and I was even able to see pieces stored away if I requested them....which I did. If... More

When you pull up to DM Weil Gallery the building is so unassuming that you have no idea the surprises that await you inside,. The first room is a sampling of prints in alternate sizes and even some snacks which Ken invites you to enjoy. Then you enter the gallery.. a tremendous room with beautifully displayed abstract art. There is... More

The gallery is inviting and spacious. The artwork is vivid with life and color; it is easy to find yourself lost in thought. The interior space oozes creativity and is bristling with unique furniture and styling that complements the gallery's atmosphere. When one walks into the large, open display room, he is immediately intrigued: large windows, strategic lighting, and a... More

There is a joy and playfulness in these paintings with bright colors and a real sense of movement. If the paintings are too costly or large for you, excellent prints are available as well as giclee ones. The gallery has two rooms, prints in one and the other a very large room with the paintings. Do check on their website... More

The studio is full of large colorful abstracts. The paintings and their stories are powerfully presented and the artist was there to describe the inspiration and creative process. The originals are much too large for my space, but the studio offers reproductions in a variety of sizes and finishes. I brought home an "enhanced" giclee and some smaller prints. They... More
