A beautiful state park that is very well-maintained. We loved walking around with our golden retriever and dipping our toes in the lake. The rock formations are so unique and impressive. Overall, definitely worth a visit!

Had a great day of hiking on well marked trails in the Preserve - enjoyed the Meadowview Mountain trail and continued along to Gertrudes Nose to make it a 6.5 mile loop. We walked along a ridge, overlooked multiple valleys - had amazing vistas. Make that breathtaking! The Park has a wonderful picnic area overlooking a valley or a stunning... More

This is a wonderful place to walk around in. Very nice paths to walk on...beautiful views! The only issue is that when watching the sunset, loud speaker comes on and asks park visitors to leave...poor timing. If you want to watch the sunset, best to go elsewhere. If you want views and a nice hike...come on it.

Minnewaska Park is my favorite! They have a shorter hike around the lake which is also beautiful. But taking a longer hike will show you such amazing views that it is well worth the walk. They have few waterfalls which are also worth a visit. The lake Minnewaska is a wonderful place to refresh in between the walks. The downside... More

Gertrude's Nose was an easy/medium 3 hour hike with little elevation change and beautiful views around the mountain ridge.

This is a great park to go hiking. There are very easy paths close to parking, or more challenging and remote trails for the more experienced and adventurous. It's located on the top of the Shawangunk Ridge, so you get some great views of those while driving to get to the Park. Overall a great place to relax!

This is a spectacular park. It is up on the Shawangunk Ridge overlooking the valley. If you want to swim, its here. One note on the swimming, unless you passed a swimming test there is a restricted and small swimming area. If you want to hike in a beautiful setting with unbelievable views and a great variety of flora, its... More

What a beautiful place to wander and get lost in beauty. There are several waterfalls and swimming holes. Also, when it's the right time of year you can eat wild berries!

Groomed carriage roads for skiing along scenic vistas that match some of the best within 100 miles. For $10 you get all you can eat for trails whether your pleasure be skate skiing or classic. There's rarely a crowd. There's no ski rentals here and no food or water. You need to be self-sufficient. Rent equipment at Rock and Snow... More
