This park is huge, and our first intention was to go to the swim beach, but it was closed that day, and the only way to go to the other one ( the park has 2 beach/pool with life guards) was walking - around 2 hours - or biking, so we decided to enjoy the park and the magnificent views!... More

Minnewaska is a park filled with beautiful views, lakes and waterfalls! Has always been a favorite spot of mine and my girlfriend. I especially love hiking there in the fall! The scenery is breathtaking! Lake Minnewaska has a swimming beach as well as changing rooms and bathrooms. The park tends to get a bit crowded on weekends. Weekdays are always... More

Great trails and accessible for all levels. Dont miss the Falls! The hike around the lake would also be great for mountaing biking or trail running. Bring a picnic lunch!

Minnewaska State Park was a great hiking experience. $8 for the park entrance. The attendants were very helpful in planning a route that was best suited for the amount of time we wished to hike. Where the carriage road around the lake is wide and easy, the smaller foot paths offered more of a fun challenge; both have amazing views... More

This is one of the best areas for hiking in and around NYC. We did the 12 mile Gertrude's nose hike which was beautiful and only mildly challenging so good with kids. Not a far drive from NYC.

This is my first time at Minnewaska. I researched and read tons of reviews and recommendations on the trails and lakes in this park and it seems to be a good nearby state park. My family (parents in the early 60s, sister, and boyfriend) all wanted to do some local hiking in New York. We are from NYC - it... More

This park is so large, that it would take multiple visits to see it all. really amazing views, and trails, although the waterfall was kind of dry when I went.

Doesn't get much better for a great bike ride and fab views! Rode around both lakes for a total of about 15 miles- perfect day trip from Manhattan! Not too technical so can be done by most in shape riders! Coming again and bringing friends!

Gorgeous and lots of places for hikers of all levels to hike. My children loved wading in the water catching frogs near the waterfall.

Nice venue, methinks. More of a hiking place than a beachy lake and no boating. Nice pretty much any time of year, has a lot of different looks. There is a small beach but it's more of a children's beach with limited shoreline and not much space to lie out. Better for sunning on the rocks various places around the... More
