Busy place on the weekends! Drive up to the top and take a pleasant 2 mile hike around the lake on beautiful old carriage paths. Great place to picnic and take photos. Swimming is permitted in a very small area, but the water is COLD.

What a beautiful place!!! I am overwhelmed by the landscape. The lake, the forest, the waterfall, the spring....everything is wonderful. They have a small area called "the beach" on the lake for you to swim and my 5 year old boy loved it so much. How relaxing to walking barefeet on the spring. Great place for family. Highly recommended.

We have been to this state park before. In the past we walked to Awosting Falls. great short hike on a path. If you go after some rain, the water is rushing over the falls. This time I went with 2 friends & we hiked 8 miles up & down the mountain. We stopped 2 times to check out the... More

For only $10 per car you get to see an amazing lake with great cliffs. You can jumo off the cliffs or go to the beach area to swim. I also found out you can scuba dive there and plan to do that in the future. There are many trails for hiking or biking and you can easily spend all... More

My girlfriend and I went with a couple of friends to stay in Woodstock, NY, for the Memorial DAy Weekend. It was a bit cool and perfect for a relaxing hike. We decide to hike the Undercliff and Overcliff Carriage Trails in Minnewaska State Park Preserve, which are designated easy and about five miles long. Aside from the awesome mountainside... More

A beautiful state park that is very well-maintained. We loved walking around with our golden retriever and dipping our toes in the lake. The rock formations are so unique and impressive. Overall, definitely worth a visit!

Had a great day of hiking on well marked trails in the Preserve - enjoyed the Meadowview Mountain trail and continued along to Gertrudes Nose to make it a 6.5 mile loop. We walked along a ridge, overlooked multiple valleys - had amazing vistas. Make that breathtaking! The Park has a wonderful picnic area overlooking a valley or a stunning... More

This is a wonderful place to walk around in. Very nice paths to walk on...beautiful views! The only issue is that when watching the sunset, loud speaker comes on and asks park visitors to leave...poor timing. If you want to watch the sunset, best to go elsewhere. If you want views and a nice hike...come on it.
