Montauk Downs is big, beautiful, and filled with some of the toughest rough around. When you land in the tall grass and weeds you would be better off with a weed whacker than a golf club. For obvious reasons, I did not play Golf this time around, but have many times in the past.. The course is challenging enough, and great for walking, no cart.. I am an avid Golfer, and this is one of the most fun courses I've played..

dollar for dollar, as good as it gets. Long, elevated greens that are well bunkered. Unfortuanley alot of OB too. The course is always in great shape.

A little difficult and very challenging. Have a 9 handicap and scored a 84. Apparently it's almost always windy. Very windy. Lots of bunkers and a couple of deer wandering around. We would like to play again some time.

Montauk has more state parks in a confined area than any other places I know. The Montauk Downs Golf Course is a fine place to spend a morning. I have golfed there and we rented a cart. Amazing golf course. Very accessible. Reasonable fees. Challenging enough for the most proficient, scratch handicap golfer, yet fun enough for the rest of us folk! Beautiful views, courteous staff.

We paid $5 to use the pool when we were out here for a day trip, great find! They also have showers in the clubhouse!

Early morning is my favorite. Amazed we could get tee times. A really beautiful course at sunrise and the staff was very friendly.
