Ok , I'm just kidding.....but has anyone read "Montauk Monster" by Hunter Shea? An entertaining two hour read full of blood and guts, opens up at shadmoor park....on another note, this park is a fun walk along the cliffs. You can imagine WWII as you explore the bunkers that were built along the cliffs to protect us from the Germans....nice... More

A short 10-minute hike to take you to a bluff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean where you can witness the surf pounding the beach. It is a beautiful view. No fee. Just park your bike or car. Do view the map located by the parking area so you take the right trail to the bluff.

We have been going to Shadmore for years. I love how wonderfully quiet and natural it is, especially as compared to the center of Montauk during tourist season. It is only a few miles from the center of Montauk, but light years away. Lots of quiet trails among the scrub woods, mixed with breathtaking views of the ocean as seen... More

The moorland is a green oasis. Easy trails, yet plenty of flora. 25 mile views form the cliffs. WW II cannon bunkers. A really great place to spend a day walking and taking pictures. On the beach side, the clay and sand cliffs look as if they come from another world.

Very easy hiking along gorgeous sand cliffs eroded by the waves into incredibly sculpted hoodoos. Beautiful views of the Atlantic. Wear insect repellent in season due to ticks.

Not much traffic and not many visitors in early May. We had a good stroll on the beach to reach the park. Not many birds either that early in season.

We loved this park. There are trails for hiking that are free. Just be careful of ticks. This area is well known for having lots of ticks. We loved the hike overall. It is a great family activity.

Beautiful place for a jog though you must have careful footing. High up on the sea cliffs offer outstanding views of the ocean.

I hiked here twice I liked it so much; you get a great view of the ocean and surfers from the bluffs above and it was so quiet that I only saw two other hikers the second time I went.

My husband and I hiked here with our little girls. The view is simply spectacular. You start at the cliffs and end up on a pristine beach with pounding surf and silk sand. The trail runs by some old cold war bunkers, which are actually pretty cool to see. Some of the best beach hiking I've ever done.
