Good clean, calm beach

Nice beach. Filled up later in day, so got a bit crowded. The beach is a lot like Jersey Shore beaches without the boardwalk.

One of the only free beaches on the South Shore of Long Island, Kirk Beach even comes manned with Lifeguards. Clean and not too crowded, this large beach is a nice place to come play in the waves or just relax on the soft sand. There were no surfers and no grumbling locals. More and more over the years though,... More

Surf is excellent Clean and short walk over the dunes. Highly recommend this public beach. Insiders secret- cant find a parking spot in the free lot nextdoor to the IGA- park in the blocked off spot directly in front of the walkway. No signage- no ticket. But hurry because soon the town will mount signage!

Free parking and restroom facility and an easy walk via a sand path lined mostly with wooden mats to get you to the ocean's edge. Great spot!

Kirk Beach is located behind the IGA in town. Its not as crowded as the other beaches near the center of town - those beaches are crazy at times.. You have to walk over the dunes to get to the beach so if your carrying a lot of stuff, bring a friend. Also, to get to the bathroom's you have... More

What's all the big fuss with going to the Hamptons or Montauk? It is not worth the traffic nightmare I endured. I'm sure there's another way to go than 27...but I really think the Hamptons is overrated. There are nice beaches like Smith point or Ponquogue or Cupsoque and not so freaking far.

Life guards, public restrooms and free parking what more could you want? Maybe a changing station would be good, but they do have a shower so you can wash off the sand.

The main and largest beach in MTK has everything you could want in a beach. Literally right in town, from Umbrella Beach all the way east, it is a beach you will never forget

Beach was very busy with combination of families and singles. Close to restaurants (and hotels) but the waves are too strong for kids but good for surfers. Life guards were present in July.
