It looks great here anytime of year. Its a long but nice drive there with a couple overlook pull offs on the way. The hours for the tour are a pain though plus its over priced.

To come here is to come to The End. As others have said, don't let the weather deter you, because this lighthouse holds an attraction to its visitors, even in foggy conditions. Granted, you won't be able to see the horizon, but watching the fog rolling through is a treat in itself. Come here with your family, with your friends,... More

This state park is at the tip of Long Island. What sets it apart from most others is the lighthouse on its property. You can take a tour of the lighthouse and climb up to the top (although, when I visited the park in winter, the lighthouse was closed). There is also a lighthouse gift shop. The park has a... More

The seal haul out trail is a great hike that begins at a trailhead on Montauk hwy, about 1 mile west of the lighthouse. The trailhead is on the north side of the hwy. We parked a little down Camp Hero Rd., which was 100 yards or so from the trailhead. The trail itself is about a mile long and... More

The park is a good spot to visit if you are into maritime history, and it's a cool trek up 137 steps to the top of the lighthouse (do NOT wear heels- they won't let you up if you are). The view from the top is spectacular. Be prepared however to spend $$ on parking (if you don't, there is... More

This has been a favorite family destination for many years. The kids loved running around the grounds and climbing to the top of the lighthouse. It is as picturesque a place as can be; surrounded by the ocean all arond you. It is peaceful walking the dunes. This time of year, the Bluefish and Striped Bass are running. The shoreline... More

Scenery was breathtaking --straight out of a magazine--from sightings of seals to fishermen who had been surf casting bringing up their large catches. Our photos are amazing!

My husband and I hired bikes and had a great day cycling around Montauk. We found it fun and easy to cycle around Montauk park. I thought the warning signs as you enter about ticks and poison ivy were a good idea, as we are from the UK and not known what to look for. It has lots of natural... More
