public golf course ( a hidden gem ) nice pool and tennis, pro shop , bar restaurant. The "Downs" is a treat. I never take it for granted. For golfers, a difficult walk with quite a bit of OB. Real good greens, many elevated. NYS residents get a very good rate to play.

Really nice golf course and very reasonably priced, but the round took over 5 hours to play. The course is in pretty nice shape and very beautiful.

The course is nice to play. Not too easy yet not too difficult for an average player. You have to make reservations in advance to play. It's always crowded and if you are not a foursome, you will be forced to play with other players as they do not let anyone go out without four players. It gets slow at... More

We stopped in for a good and inexpensive breakfast and then hit the driving range. Site offers a pool and pro shop as well a a great golf course. Did not play the course today due to our time restrictions but have in the past and it is not to be missed if out this far on Long Island. Call... More

The trail to get to the ceremony was... well, it was a TRAIL! We were advised NOT to wear heels for the ceremony, and we listened. Once we got to the site, it was breathtaking.

Well run well maintained state golf course. A challenging course for most. BUT, it is like two courses in one. If you tee off early, it is a nice and relatively straighforward course. Yes, there are some tough holes and it is not that forgiving if stray from the fairway on many holes. But, that same course in the afternoon... More

My son golfs here all summer. We have been going here since 2002. THe course is great and well groomed. People are helpful and the breakfast sandwiches are great.

this beautiful course was built by carl fisher back in the 1920's and it still retains its original charm while giving the more experienced golfer a run for his money. the fairways are gorgeous as are the greens but if you stray into the rough you will certainly know you are there. the course plays long even from the middle... This is one of my favorite golf courses anywhere. I don't get to play it often enough because i am often disappointed by the accomadations in montauk like the ocean resort inn. but the golf course is fabulous. always interesting and challenging. and if the wind blows bring your "a" game with you!!!!
