Nothing hip happening here, but the view is great. The staircase in the lighthouse is very narrow and not for someone who has claustrophobia issues. But if you make it to the top the view is phenomenal.

You just have to take the time out to go view the sunrise. It's beautiful! Look at some of my photos! Afterwards, go down to where the fisherman are fishing and take some time to watch them. Loved it!

They do a fantastic job with the exhibits on the lower level. We found it disappointing that after paying for parking and then paying to get in the lighthouse, you can't really spend much time at the top. We went on a Sunday afternoon off season and it was still crowded. They only let so many people up to the... More

The lighthouse is a fascinating place to visit, both because of its history and because it is still a working lighthouse! Visitors get to see the lamp, walk on the outside where it is placed and look out over land and sea. There are exhibits on the lower floors, and a historian gives an interesting talk about the history of... More

You can walk all along the underside of the lighthouse - and if you like to fish, this is some of the BEST surf casting. But whether you go to fish or just to watch the ocean with one of the prettiest lighthouses in the USA, this is a must see/do.

Overrated, you have to pay for the parking lot. Better go there by bicycle. The sunset is not as nice as the Sunrise.

The lighthouse has a great museum and two wonderful videos. Go down to the basement if you want to see Montauk's lighthouse history on film, or if you need a break from the sun, or shelter from the rain. The climb to the top is not too challenging and the views of course are 360 degrees. They light the lighthouse... More
