Bring a picnic to eat on the beach while you watch the dare devil surfers. Don't skip the museum--the story of the little old lady who saved the lighthouse is truly inspirational. It's fun to climb to the top of the lighthouse and not too hard. It's even more fun to be at landsend.

See my disappointment about the views from Montauk Manor, even after a large investment. At least here the views are pretty special, and the lighthouse itself is dignified and rather lovely. But they do know how to charge for it all. I am already advising friends that the long trip down long island is really not worth it.

We spent a week in Montauk this summer, all but 1 day on the beach. When the clouds rolled in, we went to the lighthouse. My children are teenagers, and this was a perfect place to visit with them. There is a lot of interesting history associated with the lighthouse and we all really enjoyed it. We walked up to... More

If your in Montauk, you have to see the famous lighthouse. It's an old time classic which. You can walk down to the beach, watch people fishing and just have a nice few hours strolling around. Enjoy!!

There is a no choice car park of $8 dollars before you discover that it is another $30+ per person to get to the lighthouse that you can see from the road. Additionally you are greated with a big sign saying NO ...with regard to carry a bag, umbrella etc. Somewhere it has been forgotten that we are customers with... More

We were a little disappointed as you have to pay for parking $8, then pay $36 to get in to see the lighthouse. I do understand the need for funds to maintain the site but that's a lot of money for a shortish visit. In summer it gets really busy as expected so you can't really get the most from... More

If you are going in the off-season or early in the day you will likely be fine, but the lines can get very long and there are a lot of little kids! Great for photo ops, all you crazy instagrammers :) Go at sunset and have fun!
