Had to pay for parking & $9 to get into lighthouse. Definitely recommend going to the top if you pay, super views! Also, very educational and learned a lot about the lighthouse and it's history in the small museum. Beware though, there are 137 steps to climb. Really didn't feel that bad, but a little tight on the staircase.

I was disappointed, upon reaching the top, not to be allowed to walk around the perimeter of its top, as in other lighthouses I've been too, particularly after having paid the hefty fee for a group of six which others have explained before me. That said, it is a remarkable place to visit, historic and scenic, and the location is... More

It was getting late so we only had time to view the lighthouse from afar. The parking area had some swings so you could look out at "The End" of Montauk out onto the ocean beyond. Beautiful!

Beautiful, scenic way to spend a day. Parking is $8 for a lot near the lighthouse which had plenty of parking. There was a restaurant and bathrooms near the parking (complete with a swinging bench to look out on the beaches!) and then a paved path to the lighthouse. We enjoyed learning about the lighthouse's role throughout the years, to... More

Great spot for a picnic, for sightseeing and appreciating history of the area. Gorgeous pictures. Easy to get to and a slice of Americana.

A very fun afternoon with my son. We loved the lighthouse and we took a lot of great photos. I really enjoyed the view. A must do attraction.

However, traffic on the way out and back can be a major buzz kill. The lighthouse and museum are very nice and I got some good pictures on the ground and from the top. One thing that does wind me up-pay $8 to park, walk 100 feet and then pay 4x $9 to get in.

This is definitely a must do attraction in Montauk as it really is the symbol of Montauk. If its not too busy with visitors then a walk up the circular stairs is recommended to see the views all around.

Stopped in bc TripAdvisor recommended as a tourist destination site. We recently moved to Pelham, and as this was our first trip to the Hamptons, we had to check it out!

We have been coming to Montauk for years and never go to the lighthouse. It was worth the trip this time. We climbed to the top and what a gorgeous 365 degree view from up there. We hiked down a trail to the water and it was just beautiful. All in all, worth going at least once.
