Trevor Zoo is a very special place. As part of Millbrook School it is the only zoo, possibly in North America, where high school students get hands on experience caring for the animals. The exhibits include indoor and outside meandering along lovely paths. One can spend hours or just a quick visit. There is no admittance fee but donations to... More

Thank you so much for the live feed of the heron nest. I have been watching it with great anticipation of the eggs hatching. The first 2 chicks are so cute and watching this heron care for these babies is wonderful. She is building up the sides of the nest to provide more safety for them as they grow. She... More

We were looking for something to do with our toddler who loves animals, so we decided to check out this zoo we had heard about. It's a very nice little zoo. You can tell all the animals are well cared for and there are a good amount of them to see. We saw lemur, emu, a wallaby, alpaca, marmoset, owls,... More

Trevor Zoo is a must see for all families visiting Millbrook. Located at Millbrook School, one of the many excellent private schools in this area of New York and Connecticut, it is managed by teachers in the school's science department, and staffed by their students. It makes up part of the schools "sustainability" program. A simple question to one of... More

We visited this zoo with a group of homeschoolers and had an amazing time. It is beautiful, scenic and very well kept. I also appreciated that they are teaching about endangered animals and conservation. The staff was very pleasant and made us feel welcome. We went on a rather cold day and would love to come back when the weather... More

This small zoo is attached to the Millbrook High School complex and was created by a former biology teacher as a way for students to connect with conservation efforts in a hands-on learning environment. The entrance fee is only a $5 donation per person, and the zoo is open seven days a week from 8:30am to 5:00pm. During the week,... More

A charming little zoo with a surprising variety of animals. How lovely that the school looks after all the animals. Absolutely darling.

We were in this area and have a few extra hours. Another parent had told me about this little zoo. What a neat little zoo immaculately taken care of at a school. We brought a picnic lunch and had a very nice afternoon. We went for a stroll in downtown Millbrook after and completed a relaxing trip. Will go back... More

This is a wonderful place to bring the family for leisurely stroll through a well maintained zoological park. There are a surprising number of species here. Highly educational, with a remarkably successful captive breeding program. Kudos to the Millbrook School for supporting this endeavor. Ample free parking.

The Trevor Zoo is a great place to take younger children who may not be able to handle the long walking distances of a larger zoo. There are many animals to view, a pond where there are all kinds of waterfowl, and the best part is, the zoo is shaded by bamboo trees and the walkways are paved!
