My grandson loves the Chautauqua Belle. You can just go for a ride or order a box lunch. Young people are often allowed to pull the whistle.

This is a nice ride on an old paddlewheel boat that leaves from Mayville, NY, at one end of Chautauqua Lake and heads down the lake and returns. It's a beautiful view with narration pointing out some historical sites and giving information about the area. If you are in the Chautauqua County area, definitely put this on your list...

Once you are on the paddlewheeler, the sightseeing tour of Chautauqua Lake is relaxing and the commentary is informative and entertaining. Getting on the boat is the problem. We tried on 3 consecutive days to board the boat. The first day, the 12, 2 or 4 pm excursions were no-shows. When we called to inquire about the schedule, the young... More

Waiting on the dock and watching her come up the shoreline was such a treat...but getting on board was the real thrill. Views were magnificent. They run a pre recording history of the area so that you don't miss anything - Great Stuff! The captain will stop the tape and add comments or just make sure they are at the... More

We took our kids out for a trip on the Belle and it was a great way to spend the afternoon. This is a replica of the old steamships that used to frequent the lake years ago. We learned some interesting history about the area as well on the ride. If you are looking for fun thing to do with... More

Drove like a maniac to get to Mayville on time to ride the Chautauqua Belle at 11 AM. Got there and only a few people were waiting at the dock and one lady tried to ask the guy on the boat a question and he yelled at her and was rude. Then when he got off the boat we were... More

We rushed this morning to make it in time for the first cruise of the day. While waiting at the dock while they were preparing the boat, One of the men on the ship (possibly the captain?) spoke very harshly with a woman waiting near us that was trying to ask a question. She didn't realize they were trying to... More

Went on a Sunday afternoon. The ride was very relaxing although at some points seats were hard to come by. We had the Captains grandfather on board and he was very interesting. The narration is nice, especially if you are not from the area. It was nice to hear about different facts about the house at Chautauqua Institute. We did... More

First let me explain this review started with a phone call to the Chautauqua Bell office I was given the impression by the women who answered the phone that this was a very exquisite cruise and Happy hour. I was also informed about the Exquisite lunch provided if purchased for and additional $10.00. This she explained to be fresh homemade... More
