I should be clear that I really enjoy the wine at Shinn-it's very good. However, I have been several times and the owner of the vineyard is downright rude and inhospitable, which is unfortunate. So odd considering that this same owner used to own a restaurant in the West Village years ago that was also quite good. I am baffled... More

We made sure we stopped at Shinn on our wine tour because we knew it was on the smaller end of the wineries in the region, and we wanted to see something different. . The setting is quaint and comfortable, and the staff makes you feel right at home. We didn't try the food, but the wines were excellent!

As a certified sommelier and industry oenophile, I am immersed in the world of wine. The reader of this missive must understand a couple of points to make sense of ratings of Long Island (LI) wineries. First, please do not compare the apples of LI wines to the oranges of west coast wines. This is unfair. Instead, compare LI wines... More

We loved our visit to this winery and cannot wait to return! It's a small one off the main path a bit, but that's part of what we loved. This is not a spot for large groups, buses or limos and as far as I'm concerned, that's a good thing! The staff were lovely and the snacks delicious!

Always enjoy stopping here to sample their wines. Staff is friendly and helpful. The owners keep a very nice tasting room with both indoor and outdoor seating. Great place to relax and enjoy a small winery in a beautiful vineyard setting.

Jackie took care of us and steered us to some wonderful wines. The great thing about this vineyard is that it produces wines with very low-sulphites. Specially the first-fruit 2013 Sauvignon Blanc. If you normally have any sort of allergic reaction (and I suffer greatly) you will be pleasantly surprised here - Lots of interesting blends and great value.

Everything was excellent and my wife and I appreciates the esthetics. My only complaint was that we weren't suppose take a casual walk in the vineyard because it was a weekend but we walked around the perimeter anyway! Bike riding is excellent and breakfast was gourmet. They run two complicated businesses and deal with the public also--quite a challenge.

Good wine, service was prompt in pouring the next selection (not crowded), but not overly friendly. Courteous
