The church at this shrine is very unusual--a dome with a very large statue on top. There's a big stairway that allows you to climb to the top. From the inside you can see that the dome is actually--no, I won't tell. Be surprised. The gardens are quite pretty, and lined with dozens of statues depicting beloved Catholic personages. The... I came here for a special mass which was quite beautiful. I was not aware of all the beauty in the grounds. I wished I would have planned to make more time to walk the exterior as well.

hidden gem on the way back home from Niagara falls. Great photo opportunities. Again not fully operational on Wednesday after Memorial day, but several employees were tidying the grounds. Can see they keep property clean and neat. Great side trip.

It was very interesting. IT was touchy. The place was kind of rundown. Not able to keep up the beauty.

Many a time we have come here to enjoy the tranquility of this shrine and the area. - Statues and angels are abound - as is the energy here. - There are areas to contemplate and pray inside and out. - The Chapel is pretty and there is a beautiful room in the back that is Mother Mary's indoor shrine... Sorry for the late review but I just remembered that I had not written about the beautiful Shrine that we visited in November 2012. Some of our friends had recommended this place to us it was truly a beautiful experience. As soon as you park (free parking) and start walking around you can feel how calm, peaceful and serene the... Came from the Canada border and made a stop to this beautiful church. Was able to get there on time for the mass. The place is so peaceful and green. If you have more time, take a stroll around the area. The chapel inside where you can write your intentions is a nice and very serene. There's also a gift... More

The main Basilica is constructed as a dome with glass covering that has the continents of the world on it with blue for the oceans. You can walk to the top of the main Dome Chapel as it is called (85 stairs) for a panoramic view of the park-like grounds. There is a heart shaped Rosary Pool with lights forming... More

My first visit to the Basilica was during the Christmas season. My suggestion is to visit the small Village of Lewiston for dinner and then take a ride to this quietly spiritual shrine. The Christmas lights add to the visual beauty of the holiday. From the top of the shrine, you can view the grounds in all their splendor. The... More
