This train ride is scenic and moves at a relatively slow pace. It stops at the destination for a few minutes and you can get off before it heads back. The younger children liked it while the older ones got a little wrestless.

An old fashioned ride to Saranac Lake and back. There is no narration along the ride and unfortunately the bandits did not show up. The kids on board seemed to have a good time anyway.

The ride took forever and the whole bandit charade was more annoying than anything. So not worth what we paid.

This themed entertainment train ride to Saranac Lake was a half an hour late both leaving and returning. There was no communication at all concerning the length of the ride, whether it was a themed ride, when to re-board at Saranac Lake, etc. It also wasn't the cleanest train. The actors were very good, but the story seemed very loose... More

Enjoyed the scenery and commentary given by the staff as we rode through the mountains. This is a family type outing, so be prepared. There were a lot of families. But the staff make it clear the children have to behave. It was very romantic ride.

This trip is too expensive and takes way too long. Forty-five minutes one way and then only a fifteen minute layover. I'd rather drive between these two villages and enjoy what they both have to offer.

The trip is nice but not that much better than just driving the 12 miles. It is fun for very young kids.

Went by and it had a sign in the window closed to further notice due to vandalism. call before you go to make sure it's open. Saw the train that was sitting there and didn't look to nice to me.

Rode the Adirondack Scenic Railroad from Saranac lake to Lake Placid, and back again. The train is fun, offering beautiful, scenic views and a pleasant ride. The crew is very friendly and the conductor points out things of interest along the way. Especially a lot of fun for the children who were on the train!. I just wish there would... More

We had an absolutely beautiful day for our scenic round trip train ride to Saranac Lake. We boarded at the beautiful Lake Placid station. Rosie (the engine) got us moving towards Saranac Lake, in the slow lumbering way that only a train can do. We rode in the open car, which was fantastic. The trees were just beginning to turn,...
