Description: 45 Holes of Championship Golf - Links Course, Mountain Course, & Pristine...
45 Holes of Championship Golf - Links Course, Mountain Course, & Pristine 9. The Lake Placid Club Links course was designed in 1909 by the renowned Scottish architect Seymour Dunn. Dunn remained true to his origins, and the Links course represents Scottish Links style golf at its best with bunker-laden fairways, native fescue, and large undulating greens. The Lake Placid Club Mountain course was laid out in 1910 by Alexander H. Findlay who immigrated to the U.S. from Scotland in the early 1880's and became one of the pioneers of golf in America. In 1931 the course was remodeled by Alister MacKenzie, designer of Augusta National – the home of "The Masters". With smaller greens and more tree-lined fairways, this course begs for the straight shot. The engaging design takes full advantage of the scenic vistas and will appeal to players of all levels. It is quite simply the essence of "mountain golf". Pristine 9 Executive Course - A little slice of golf heaven with 7 par 3's and 2 par 4's. The par threes range from 90 to 200 yards in length and have small undulating greens while the par 4's are reachable at 260 and 270 yards, eagles are rare, and birdies fly away with frequent three putts. Moose are known to frequent the Pristine 9 as they love to go for a dip on Hole 7 where the tee shot requires a carry over a pond. Typical round takes about an hour and a half, so it makes for family fun or a quick getaway for lunch on the run. Spectacular Weddings and Special Events: Overlooking the Historic Lake Placid Club Golf Courses, the Golf House offers the most beautiful view of the High Peaks in the Adirondacks. With an open-beamed ceiling, a massive stone fireplace & magnificent antler chandeliers, your Lake Placid special event at our Golf House is the epitome of an Adirondack experience. If you prefer the outdoors the covered pavilion attached to the Golf House gives you the best of both worlds...outdoor feeling while protected from the elements.

Mountain Golf

Golf course is set on a mountainside with great vistas and abundant wildlife. Course is a little quirky but the views are spectacular.

On the outskirts of the east side of town, this club has two 18 hole courses and one 9 hole executive course. After 3pm, my wife and I were able to play the 9 hole for $25 each, including a cart, and we were done in under 2 hours - great for kids and beginners. The 18 hole courses looked... More

This golf course is just beauty on overload. It just meanders through the rolling hills & overlooking it is the magnificent mountains. No matter how you are playing, you will always have a great day because of so much natural beauty.

This is a fine, well conditioned golf course that will test your game. You must be able to adapt to the changes in elevation, take the occasional blind shot in stride, be grateful for the pars when they come and accept the inevitable bogies with quiet resignation borne from the realization you are a mere mortal after all. Do this... More

The opportunity to play either the Mountain or the Links course at LPG is one we look forward to every summer while visiting Word of Life Inn in Schroon Lake. The Mountain course leads you on a rugged path through the valley, with the mountain effect a little stronger on its greens, fun! The Links course is more open through... More

We played the links today. It is a good test of golf. The layout of the course is great. And the views are amazing. Course condition was OK. Tee boxes and fairways average. Bunkers not very good. Greens are large and undulated. They are a little slow. Overall a good time. Also very walkable. Folks at pro shop were average... More

Some green winter kill, especially on mountain course. Other than that, in pretty good shape. Not perfect but, very playable. Mountain course particularly interesting as many old style holes (course is 100 years old) that are very unique.

Seems that after paying for the round,we weren't too important. If not for the bag... More

Very scenic course. Lots of challenge but fair. Wife also played and very accessible from front tees. Lots of variety in the holes. They say the links course is even nicer bur did not play that one.
