We are so glad we happened to walk into this store. Picture hot ground turkey sausage with fresh eggs, on a home made croissant with a hot cup of local dark coffee. So prefect on a cool morning. This is a very quaint bakery, with super nice people / owners, the kind of shop you wish was on the corner... More

This quaint shop in the center of Lake Placid Village is loaded with delicious culinary treats, from macaroons to cider donuts. There are gifts and gift basket opportunities (olive oils, cheeses, etc.), and everything behind the counter is amazing. We had the Pumpkin Cookies, and they were so good we stopped on the way home and bought more!

My 'Sisters by Choice' (3 of them Sal,Miki, and Shermie) visited Temptations Store at Lake Placid yesterday. What friendly service we received. Cheese slice samples of our choice and yes we bought (each of us) some of the Comte & Lamb Chopper cheeses and their cute little 'orphan cheeses'. Oh yes, and a baguette that was still warm. Yummy!!! Thanks... More

I love this type of store. You can find alot of unusual items here. I bought a salt finisher. What a concept its rocks of salt with a grater, ive never seen this before so it was a must have for me. I might also add that the staff was very friendly, in fact we needed some auto assistance after... More

I love this little shop! Sometimes I wish it was bigger.. Or that you could dine in, this is my favorite place for lunch! If you like cheese.... REAL cheese, and baguettes, or bagels, or oil, or a coffee.. Or what ever your fancy temptation may be... You must go here! By far the best baguette bread around! And the... More

Temptations is my favorite store in Lake Placid. The bagels and sticky buns are great. Service is very friendly. They also have a complement of cheeses and other gourmet foods.

Pop in here for a real French croissant, sticky bun, or chocolate confection. Five star rating for quality with prices that reflect the fine ingredients. All kinds of gourmet treats from pasta and olive oils to fine preserves and jams.

Excellent cheese selections, the adirondack cheddar, Cabot cloth bound cheddar, and the Gouda with truffles were all excellent. Make sure to buy one of their French baguettes too!!! Staff was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful.

I've been buying cheese here since they opened and I can say with confidence I've yet to find a better place to purchase cheese, from around the world and and also locally made cheese, any where else. And to think right here in the great small village of Lake Placid!

Made the mistake of stopping there and asked the very rude man behind the "gourmet" cheese counter for something very commonly associated with artisan cheese. He laughed and treated my wife very disrespectfully. I have never been treated so poorly by someone supposedly in the business of catering to discriminating clientele. There are plenty of other options in Lake Placid... More
