If you are a chocolate lover (as I am) - this place is not to be missed. I tried all available chocolate mousse varieties (Whiteface Mountain to name the one), and they all were perfect! Their fruit tarts are very good too. Good selection of cheeses.

I was amazed to find the variety of cheese and nice gourmet food. You can find a great variety of cheese with the tasting size, plus genuine French baguette at $1! I chose French style cherry tart from many desserts options. I would come again and it's great for shopping for picnic.

After a disappointing encounter with a sad excuse for bagels at a bagel shop on main st. ( if they had attempted to sell those bagels in NYC they would have been stoned by angry mobs) I was looking for another option for fresh baked goods for our breakfast. I was a little anxious about the baguettes, since NYC is... More

This is an excellent little shop to stop and get some great food. I go there every time I'm in town to grab some cheese bread and maybe a sweet. They have great service and allow you to try any of the cheeses and even sausage. When I was unhappy with the sausage they went as far as to give... More

A very nice couple (the owners?) greeted us here and we tried the Whiteface Mountain Mousse Cake. It looked like a real treat and when we ate it later in the evening it certainly was perfect. Just outstanding quality and delicious. Unfortunately it was our last night in Lake Placid or we would have returned for more desserts. A nice... More

This cute little shop is my favorite place to come to stock up when I get into town and the last place I visit to get some goodies to bring back home to friends/family. Great coffee and freshly made pastries, all sorts of interesting oils/salts/condiments/snacks--you can help yourself to taste all the different oils and vinegars with little chunks of... More

You can taste wonderful cheeses and oils and vinegars. Great little desserts. Right in the middle of Main St.

You simply MUST stop by this place for a few tasty treats on your way in our out of Lake Placid (it is a longgg car ride from NYC). By far some of the best cheese selections that I have ever had (must try the beemster!!!!) Also highly recommend the chocolate croissants, made a perfect snack for the drive home... More

My wife and I took a trip with some friends up to Lake Placid (my first). We were walking around the downtown area and jumped into Lake Placid Gourmet. Gourmet? Indeed it was. Temptations? Oh yeah, you betcha. Lots of them. The cheeses were diverse - we picked up 4 and enjoyed them all. The desserts... oh the desserts... just... More
