Had a great day on the trail .. Met some nice people... the view was great and the area we hike was a easy trail to hike

An awesome hike... quite level.... takes you to about down town lake placid... crosses a pretty dam. We hiked it while we stayed at NORTHERN LIGHT LODGE..... the trail is basically outside the door of the condo..... and while you are at it, you can stop at Maggies for pub fare... That too right outside the door of NORTHERN LIGHT...

Can walk a mile or five. The trails are well marked and there is plenty of beautiful foliage to see. The trail passes by the small dam. Great opportunities for beautiful pics.

Quite a long trail, many miles. Nothing too difficult. Trail does run through the valley, so if snow is limited it may not be the best place to ski at that time. Van Hovenberg XC ski area does a great job with limited snow. They have many groomers.
