This is a lovely store full of locally crafted items and high quality items from other areas. It is like a well decorated log cabin. Outside are all kinds of chain saw bears and obviously adirondack chairs. The personnel are pleasant and not intrusive but helpful.

From knick knacks to large furnishing this is the place for high end Adirondack decorating. We've stopped here many times over the years to their inventory. So much to look at (and buy!)

We had been on a chainsaw bear hunt while staying at Lake Placid KOA Oct. 13-18. It was our last day to shop on Oct. 17. I found the gift store address on line www.lakeplacid.com started in 1955, the Adirondack Store in Lake Placid has been known for over 55 yrs for celebrating the wonderful spirit of the Great North... I looked all over for a birch bird house for a friend that collects them and pine sachet pillows and found them here at The Adirondack Store. The prices were reasonable and even gift wrapped for me in birch wrapping paper. If you need any type of Adirondack/mountain decor for a home or gifts this would be the store.

We walked in attracted by the family of bear-themed sculptures and furniture displayed out front. Then were "wowed" by all the woodsy, country and antler themed cabin decor. Made us want to buy a cabin just to fill it with this beautiful stuff! Speaking of which, they had lots of life-like stuffed animals and pelts to complement the decor. Basement... More

Nice store with exceptional things to buy. We found many things at Izod at a nice price. We went back three times to buy golf accessories.

Very disappointing store. Dark, dirty and very ugly stock. I thought it was stock that has sat on the floor for the last 20 years.

Went here to buy a few souvenirs; what I found was very interesting. Much of their inventory is just your average cheap souvenirs, but there are quite a few things in here worth looking at. If you are planning to go to Lake Placid anytime soon, this store is worth looking at.

This gorgeous stand alone shop is the original when it comes to Adirondack furnishings. Pricey, but amazing, you could furnish an entire house in the Adirondack vernacular style from this one store. It is not on the main strip (which I think is a plus) - around the corner on Saranac Avenue instead. Books, furnture, potpourri, china, candleholders, linens, fabric,... More
