While visiting the Adirondacks and Lake Placid be sure to include horseback riding for one of your most memorable of your vacation activities. Family run, we offer the gentlest horses in the area and unlike most stables we keep them through retirement. We also run a Horse Rescue, and most of our horses came from auctions and other, unfortunate circumstances. Rides are approximately 45-50 minutes with an additional instructional lesson prior to the ride to help you familiarize yourself with how the horses have been trained and answer any questions you may have. Longer rides available for year 2012. SEI certified helmets provided. Children and Family friendly. We are an easy drive from Saranac Lake, Keene, Wilmington, Plattsburgh, and Essex areas. Walking distance from Main Street in Lake Placid.

My husband booked us a half day ride with lunch for our wedding anniversary weekend. We have done trail riding before so we have some limited experience with horses. We arrived before 9am and waited at the gate until our guide opened it promptly at 9. We saw a video to teach us the basic way to handle the horses... More

We were staying at the Mirror Lake Inn and this place was recommended to us by the front desk. At the gate of the ranch we were greeted by our guide, and directed to park right to the side of the stables. Our guide, Natalia, who was absolutely spectacular at the review and lesson, ensured that our youngest kids, 6... More

This is something you have to do if your in the area. Instructions are very clear. Horses are nice. And the owner is very knowledgeable. You ride to the top of a mountain where there is a clearing with a spectacular view. I would defiantly recommend to friends and family.

I second Brianne's review that they're terrible about rescheduling/cancelling and then refuse to give your money back even after calling them and emailing them multiple times. We reserved online well in advance and then got a call the day before about how our timeslot had been cancelled so we revised our schedule to accommodate. Next day (day of the ride)... More

Dear reviewer, It is unfortunate that a customer will compromise their ethics as to suggest incompetence, fraud, and to involve a number of other insulting adjectives to justify their distorted experience. It is also unfortunate that many service providers have to be exposed to such frivolous behavior on a regular basis. The ranch conducts horseback riding with participants of varying... More

We came into the area on August 25th and one of the Inn's recommended Adirondack Equine Center (did ride with them in winter too for a private hour as it was freezing !). I booked online for the 1/2 Day ride with lunch for a group of 4. It was amazing !! We had lunch on top of a small... More

We signed up for a ride near Saranac Lake area. They screwed our start time up because it is a remote area (electricity was out), so we had to wait for over an hour. The staff was great, very knowledgable, and you can tell they love these horses. Horses were extremely friendly, and easy to ride. We had a great... More

My daughter and I enjoyed the 1.5 hour trail ride through the woods near Lake Clear, about 15 minutes from Lake Placid. There is an amazing view of Whiteface at the top of the hill. The staff is knowledgeable and cares deeply for the horses. Great ride and saftey conscious. Ask for directions to Donnelly's Ice Cream after the ride!

Took this trail ride while on vacation there in Lake Placid area a few days ago. This is run by people that care about their horses and care you have a safe ride. If was a little muddy but it was a nice ride through the woods and horses behaved very well. I have to say as a amateur rider... More
