Family run, we offer the gentlest horses in the area and unlike most stables we keep them through retirement. We also run a Horse Rescue, and most of our horses came from auctions and other, unfortunate circumstances. Rides are approximately 45-50 minutes with an additional instructional lesson prior to the ride to help you familiarize yourself with how the horses have been trained and answer any questions you may have. Longer rides available for year 2012. SEI certified helmets provided. Children and Family friendly. We are an easy drive from Saranac Lake, Keene, Wilmington, Plattsburgh, and Essex areas. Walking distance from Main Street in Lake Placid. « less

Experienced riders may find this ride a bit frustrating since it is geared to first-time and beginning riders, but the compassion, love and respect for these rescued horses is admirable. The horses appear healthy and well cared for, as is the equipment supplied including the helmets required for the riders. A mandatory orientation is given to all riders no matter... More

Dear Travis, I am truly sorry to hear about the unfortunate incident involving Ranger and one of your trail riders. As you know, I rode Ranger on August 25 and he was the perfect trail horse during our ride. He was calm and relaxed and very responsive to the very limited direction I had to give him. He clearly knows... More

My husband and I spend a week each Sept. in Lake Placid and the Adirondack Equine Center is ALWAYS a "must ride" for us. We originally rode with the Center at their Ausable Chasm site several years ago and made the change to Lake Placid when the Center began to offer rides at the Lake Placid Club. We can not... More

My boy friend and I came here. We had such a great time. The owner and his wife were always there to guide us in the right direction. I was a bit afraid at first, but they were very patient with me and calmed my fears. Moreover, This was my first time ever riding and the horses were all very... More

My family and I come up every year to Lake Placid, and with three 9 year old triplets, you can imagine we are alway look for new and fun stuff to do. The Equine Center was very helpful and the kids loved going for a trail ride. It was only the second time they had every been riding, and they... More

My daughter and granddaughter had a terrible experience here. We all know that people can fall off horses and that is a risk we take, but to have no emergency protocol in place is unforgiveable. My daughter fell off her horse, was unconscious for 2 minutes, broke her collar bone in 3 places. No 911 was called because the owner... More

Dear Reviewer, Given the fact that participating in equine sports has its inherent risks we have one of the best safety records in the business. Many riders who have ridden at our stable will attest to the safety measures that we take prior to mounting a horse. These riders vary from beginners (including young children) to experts. Here at the... More

I'll admit that I'm not a seasoned rider, however, it is clear that these horses are well cared for and your safety is first and foremost. Travis takes more then enough time to ensure you are comfortable and are going to have a great ride. My wife, who is a seasoned rider, had a good time, but it was my... More

The trail ride itself was not that spectacular but the view of the mountains was great. Shorter ride then expected. The one thing that stood out about this place was the care in making sure the people and horses are safe and understand exactly what they should do if something were to happen. I would recommend this to anyone. More
