Wilderness beauty. Adirondack history. Serenity. Cruise the pristine waters of Lake Placid in one of our enclosed pontoon boats. The hour-long, narrated tour travels 16 miles on one of the world's most beautiful lakes. See and hear about the stately manors situated along the shore, Adirondack wildlife, and Whiteface Mountain, site of the alpine events during the 1980 Winter Olympic Games. A Lake Placid boat tour is a must for all visitors to the Adirondacks. Rain or shine, it is truly a delightful experience.

Lake Placid in New York's Adirondack Mountains was home to many super-wealthy families in the 19th century, and a destination long before it became a center for skiing. Along its beautiful shores are scores of mansions that can't be seen by car. That's why a one-hour, narrated boat tour is the perfect way to see these sights and learn something... More

We had unforgettable boat trip around Lake Placid in October. Imagine warm sunny day, very well prepared informative excursion, spectacular amphitheatrically surrounding this lake mountain landscapes totally covered with foliage presentation (and island in the middle as well), captain that knows answer to any question.... Excellent. Will take this tour next time as well. Would recommend to others.

We had a beautiful day for a tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable of the area and many of the VIP residences' on the lake. The trees were in exquisite fall color. One tip, try to sit on the left side of the boat as most of the viewing of homes and scenery is best seen from the left side.... More

Well worth the investment of $16. We happened to be there when the leaves were just changing color and it was magnificent. The captain we had a great understanding of the area, a sense of humor and was a joy to interact with. Appears safe by processes observed, captains on top of their tasks. Travel is slow and easy going... More

We went out for an hour on the boat, Lake Placid is beautiful. A little too much information about the "camps" for our tastes - would have preferred more talks about the area rather than the super rich. But all in all not bad.

I enjoyed learning about lake Placid's history and some of the prevalent people who lived there. The boat ride is beautiful and the camps are so amazing I can only imagine what they're like inside. I would highly recommend.

The boat tour was a cool experience. Our tour guide, Collin, was very funny and informative. Great way to learn about camps around lake placid and a little about the different mountains. Must do while ur in town! Great picture taking opportunities!

Big comfortable boat tour around lake placid. corny, but fun tour guide drives the boat and gives some local anecdotes. although kids are free it's not that toddler/infant friendly as they can't really run around and it's not that "exciting"... good for older kids to see some beauty, but probably best for adults.

Excellent narration, beautiful views of the lake, mountains, camps, and state land. There is free parking at the marina and restrooms in the building located at the pier. We paid $33 for two adult admissions. I heard that there is a $1 coupon you may be able to find at kiosks located in the village.
