Great boat tour around Lake Placid. Not only beautiful scenery but very educational & informative. Excellent narration by the captain. The only way you can see the gorgeous multi-million dollar homes around the lake.

If you wrap up well in warm clothes you will really enjoy the hour long boat trip. The views of the mountains are spectacular and we had plenty of time to take photos. It was sometimes difficult to hear the commentary but there were some interesting facts about the owners of the various homes around the lake as well as...

On our first trip to Lake Placid we never really saw Lake Placid...sounds a bit unusual but true as we spent all our time on Mirror Lake! So this time I booked a B&B right on the shore and took the boat tour...very informative! Got a wonderful feel for the lake and the lovely properties that surround it not to...

This was a great tour to see all the houses and the Inns on Lake Placid was very cool. Our tour guide was wonderful and very knowledgable. it was a smooth ride and well worth the money
Our first attempt to take this cruise only lasted about 5 minutes, because the boat had to rush back to the dock to avoid a thunderstorm. We were able to come back the next day to try again, with better weather, luckily. The cruise lasted about an hour and featured beautiful mountain views, many camps and boathouses, and excellent commentary...

We thoroughly enjoyed the scenic boat tour! Ben was a terrific captain and shared interesting information about the lake and the real estate around the lake.
Went on this tour with my 10 year old son. We are in Placid a lot (especially in the winter) and I've wanted to do this for awhile. It was a nice cruise around the lake with commentary, jokes and history of the points of interest along the way. The weather in town was in the high 60's or low...

The tour of Lake Placid was nice. The tour guide was nice and informative. The boat was a little uncomfortable, but we tried to make the best of it. I was also a little uncomfortable with them soliciting tips at the end.
I didn't realize Lake Placid was so large and it was amazing to see the Great Camps on the shore. The tour guide gave us a lot of history too. You can walk to the marina from town and we even walked around Mirror Lake.
Enjoyed the tour of lake placid! Finally answered the question of why there was no road access to the lake! State land and land all tied up limit the use of this beautiful lake. The tour shows multiple "camps" one of which is 40,000 sq feet. Our tour guide did a very good job, however, wished he did not check...
