Great; energizing two days on these trails snowshoeing! However, the lopet trail needs more precise signs indicating when you have arrived "Full 'circle'; and how you get back to the lodge.

Worth it for scenic tour and hiking, walking but be sure there is decent visibility when you go because the view is the best.

Whether you ski classic or skate there is plenty of room to explore on the beautiful trails here. There is something for everyone and all skill sets. We went today and the conditions were perfect. And despite the crowd for the holiday weekend, in a few short minutes you can lose them in the beautiful forest trails.

This hike was recommended to us by staff at the High Peaks Cyclery (where they sell a lot more than cycles; they have everything you could need for winter outdoor fun). It was pretty flat and a nice walk in the woods until about halfway through it when we started climbing and eventually ended up on the top. There is... More

I took my 19 yr. old son to Mount Van Hoevenberg (MVH), in March 2013 for his first time ever skiing. We went during the week, so it was less crowded and cheaper. The trails were impeccibly groomed and wide enough for plenty of skiers to use. We started out on the easiest trails on the first day, and worked... More

Our innkeeper told us of this trail which was so worthwhile. It is quite steep in parts and with all the Fall leaf litteR sometimes difficult to know what was underfoot but the 360 degree view from the top is very special and well worth the hike.

For those who haven't been on the trails for a year or more, this is a good place to start and get your mountain-legs back. Easy ascent, with varying terrain, to some enthralling views over the wilderness.

On our recent getaway in Lake Placid, we decided to ride the Cloudsplitter Gondola to the top of the mountain. What a wonderful experience! We would highly recommend this to any visitor, but would also definitely suggest to do this on a clear day. We were down to our last day there and, even though it was cloudy when we... More

Longest and steepest gondola I have ever been on. Good views on way up and down and from the summit. Tip is to buy the passport pass which gets you into all venues over a few days or longer and 20% off the bob sleigh ride.
