At the half way point during our recent journey through Morocco, we had the pleasure of experiencing the Todra Gorge on our way to Ait Ben Haddou. We visited the Todra Gorge on a Sunday; it was great to see the groups of Moroccan families, groups of teenage friends and children enjoying the beautiful day by the water. There were... More

Gorges themselves were very impressive and worth a day trip. A lovely walk along the side of the gorge. The colours of the stone were fantastic. We did not have time for much hiking so just did a short walk at the end of the gorge. Road going into the gorge is being repaired in places so it is worse... More

This was a highlight of our 3 week trip in Morocco. The steep orange sandstone (?) cliffs with the verdant green of the valley at the bottom. We worth a stop for a night or 2.

This is beautiful, well worth a visit, and a decent place to stop off on your way from Merzouga to Ouarzazate or Ait Ben Haddou. Some really nice places to walk around in this area.

A lovely flat walk through the gorge with hugh cliffs and a small clean river running through. The sheer size of the walls of the gorge is amazing and there are plenty of rock climbers to be seen. On the day we visited there was a herd of goats and donkeys drinking at the river. It was a delightful and... More

We stayed at a very unique hotel here, and walked along the base of the Todra Gorge. It was clear why this area is so attractive to rock climbers, and many were starting their ascents as we walked past in the morning. Access to this area is fairly easy, although it feels as remote as anywhere can be. The rock... More

It was impressive with a massive vertical rock face lining both sides of the deep gorge for a long distance and a crystal-clear river running through. The gorge was very busy with cars and buses visiting the gorge. The setting reminded me of a large county fair in the middle of nowhere. There were lots of stalls belonging to souvenir... More

The beauty of the gorge is very much taken away by the road, buses and restaurants in the middle of it. I've been to gorges elsewhere and this one will not be nearly as memorable. Getting to the gorge can be a bit treacherous, so be warned if you are driving yourself. Although if you are driving in Morocco it’s... More

The gorge is impressive. But it is that kind of places, on which the tourism has highly negative impact. My impression of this site: the "concreted" valley with the long row of market stalls with highly over-priced souvenirs for tourists. Lucky you if you have visited this place ca. 10 years ago. P.S.: If you look carefully, you can find... More

Hi I happened to arrive late to the gorge with plans to carry on to Merzouga and was approached by two Berber young men whilst inspecting the gorge in sunset. They recommended the accommodation within village....what a gem it was. Really friendly people, humble and welcoming and I am so happy I stayed overnight. Mohammed is the owner and he... More
