My four year old daughter rode a pony 4 out of 5 mornings that we were in Lake George. The last day, she was asking to ride a horse a that is a little bigger after she was done riding the pony, which she was allowed to do! Thank you for being so accommodating and allowing my daughter to have... More

So happy you had a great time. Even though we do get many great experienced riders here, we still want to make sure we go over all safety and riding instructions with everyone. We try our best to have nice trails and good horses for our customers to ride. Hope you can come back again to ride at Saddle Up. More

Was a nice ride and our guide was friendly. I thought the price was a tad high ($50 for an hour long ride). Horses really just play follow the leader. Nice for a beginner rider.

Thanks for the response. Our trails are constantly being worked on to make them the best trails in the area. We specialize in views of Lake George from our trails that other stables don't offer. The horses are trained to follow, because we have many people who have never experienced horseback riding and need a gentle horse to ride. I... More

My family and I went on the first ride of the day, the variety of horses was impressive and you could really tell how well the horses were taken care of. The staff was friendly and well mannered. Although we informed them we have experience riding, they treated us like beginners. BUT their job is to ensure a safe ride... More

We went to Saddle Up Stables unprepared for the ride. Even though the website said wear long pants we came in shorts. The guide was kind enough to let us run down to WalMart and purchase longer pants which are very much needed due to the brush. The trails were excellent. Highly recommend.

We went horseback riding at Saddle Up Stables in 2013, and were sure to return again for another ride during our vacation in Lake George in 2014. It's one of our favorite activities that we 'must do' while in the area. Family owned and operated for almost 70 years. Everyone is cheerful and helpful. Well-trained, well-mannered, well-cared for horses. Last... More

As a long time horse rider, I've never been fond of places that overwork their horses all day, leaving them tied to the fence/paddock all day in sweltering heat, flies, and 20+ lb saddles. This is exactly what I found and proof of how overworked these horses were was when mine fell to his knees during a walking trail ride.... More

I'm sorry this person feels our horses are overworked. You can look at all of our horses to see how well fed and fat they are. Several large commercial fans are blowing on the horses and there is plenty of shade for them. Being in the Adirondacks is far cooler than being down south or out west at 100+ degrees.... More

What a lovely place to ride! The trails were well-maintained but still looked natural. The forest views were lovely as was the view of Lake George. Once we left the stable we didn't see traffic, houses, or any signs of civilization--perfect! The staff did a great job of quickly matching each of us with a suitable horse. I am an... More

Our party of 10 went for an afternoon ride. The horses were great and the staff was nice. The trail was mostly shaded and had a great view of the lake from the mountain. I would go back again. Also, you can tell the horses were being taken care of nicely. All the horses were healthy and the staff new... More
