Right in the heart of Ithaca Commons, close to everything including great restaurants and shopping. Love the acoustics in this place --- not a bad seat in the house. Been here several times and attending B.B. King concert in April. We can't wait!

The acoustics were great and it was a really nicely restored historic theater. The theater was very close to a number of good bars and restaurants and the band really seemed to enjoy the venue.

Excellent shows. Restoration is being done constantly and the only dislike is poor lighting in the balcony in ascertaining your reserved seat. The restoration once completed will make this a must see theater!

We saw the scrooge performed here and it was well done if not a little on the amateur side. The theatre is clearly a historical landmark. Seating is a bit tired but functional. Staff was very good.

A very elegant theatre that has been preserved. They have many events and there's talk of showing movies again. As a kid I saw "The Tingler" with Vincent Price there (the theatre on the screen was very similar to the State which made the movie even scarier) and also "The Wizard of Oz". There was nothing like seeing that green... More

For years the State Theatre was THE movie house to visit to see the latest films. For too long this throwback to elegant and opulent movie theatres was allowed to languish. I was thrilled when it was brought back as a live performance venue. What is especially enjoyable is that we're getting some wonderful performers. Last year I saw Craig... More

What a personality this restored theater has. From the comfortable seating to the Gothic interior, and the constellations on the ceiling (complete with tiny blinking stars!) the State Theatre was a great venue to see a show at.

I've seen some really great acts with very enthusiastic audiences over the years at the State. Don't miss the Ithaca Bakery cookies in the lobby.

Really great theatre in Ithaca. Went to see a concert there, show was awesome and theatre was great too. Helpful, pleasant staff and really pretty decor. It's a non-smoking facility, which apparently even though they announce that some people decide to ignore, but staff was on top of it and will escort anyone out that is caught, which was nice....
