Beautiful Hike

Unbelievably beautiful with different trails to hike for all. One route was closed due to some leftover winter ice, but other than that, the trail was perfect.

We visited Buttermilk Falls today for the second consecutive year. It was not nearly as good as last year; the falls had almost no water in them...barely worth seeing. The bathroom facilities were also in horrible condition...I had to hold my breath the entire time i was inside. I would not go back if I knew the place would be... More

Just off the main drag outside Ithaca...steps from the hustle and bustle of the shopping/food stores you can step in to a tranquil moment with rushing waters, birds chirping and serenity. Then you can walk up the right side on the stone steps into the woods and a beautiful walk with nature and more breathtaking waterfalls. Be ready to go... More

If you are short of time this was very close to town. However if you decided to spend more time you could walk the trails & see more. I would recommend 2 hours if you want to walk the trail up to falls higher up, buut you could also walk as far as you wish. Stop at the office at... More

Fresh Water and Natural Woods will make You choose to Picnic or Camp in one of their Cabins.. My Uncle was a Guard at North Buttermilk until he retired. They Keep Order in Both upper and lower Buttermilk and watch out for Your Safety.

The State Park is clean and well maintained. We were able to sit on a bench and view the spectacular Buttermilk Falls from the lower end. We also hiked up the side of the falls, so refreshing. And we walked easily to the gorge. You will love it here!

Any time of the year is a good time here! Pack a lunch, a camera, the kids, grandma, swim suits for the kids, and head out for a good time! Picnic tables and a modern play area provide plenty of photo ops. There are lots of gorges and falls in Ithaca, but start here.

We drove to Buttermilk Falls State Park right after Potter's Falls. It was only a ten minute drive. I was awed how I can see the Falls instantly as soon as we entered the park. Amazing cascades descending from above into a swimming pool below. Swimming season is not in yet, but it doesn't stop some people from jumping in... More

Amazing views and beautiful stone pathways. Better than we expected. Nice picnic area at the bottom. Quite the trek back up the falls pathway, but so worth it,

This was a great hike - up LOTS of steps, across the top, and down the rim trail on the other side. Stopped to cool our feet at the lake at the bottom when done. Great hike!
