Cornell University grounds are extensive - including many interesting places. Our favorite had to be the Plantations and Arboretum. Incredible species of spices, and flowers that the warm SoCal weather doesn't allow. A great new center and well-marked signs make this an easy place to explore.

Worth the trip if you are near or on campus. Leaned a lot strolling and reading the plant indentifiers... Myths, medicinal herbs, literature, history . Small but beautiful .

Strolling the walkways of Cornell Plantations gives you plenty of feeling of being in nature without the inconveniences that often come with it. Paved pathways make it nice for even impromptu excursions. It's one of the very few places on campus where there's actually free parking that doesn't require a parking pass.

The Cornell Plantations encompass a wide variety of land uses - herb garden, natural areas, specialty gardens, groves of trees. I love to visit when the azaleas and rhododendrons are in bloom, when the bees are buzzing in the herb garden, when the Ithaca Shakespeare Company is performing in July and when the foliage is at its most colorful in... Amazing gardens! A wonderful place to visit most any time of year! Loved that everything was so clearly marked; there were many types of flowers that I've admired in pictures - and now I finally know what they are. Nice gift shop too!

Nice garden areas to walk through. Some more signs would be great for those of us that don't know plant types as well, but there was good information about a lot of things. It was interesting. Gift shop expensive.

Dear Amy- I'm glad you found the gardens beautiful. We agree that more signs would be helpful, and our interpretation coordinator is always working to add new signage, and update as quickly as we can. You mentioned that the gift shop was expensive. What type of items were you looking for? What kind of products would you have liked to... More

what a delightful Sunday we spent at Cornell Plantation this fall. The walkways led you into various themed gardens i.e. ancient herbs. So much was still in bloom at the end of the growing season ~it was a special afternoon. With the location on the Cornell Campus, it was, of course, a learning experience. The gardens were well posted and... More
