We've been out here a few times now while visiting our daughter at Cornell. We usually drive out, park the car somewhere and walk around, often with our dog. The grounds are well-maintained with lots of interesting trees and plants. There's a very pleasant pond as well. If you go here, don't forget to drive up to the top of... More

This is a must! Cornell is huge and there's so much to see on the campus grounds. The plantations are a small part of the big picture. The plantations are easily accessible in most areas. Most of it is flat but there are some steep hills on some of the hikes. However, there's enough to see if you have a... More

Cornell Plantations is full of winding roads/paths through well-maintained grounds that have been planted with an artistic but natural approach. The atmosphere is calming and parking is convenient. One of my friends got married there and it was lovely. In the right season, there is an extensive herb garden that has a small gift shop at the edge of it.... More

We visited briefly on a Sunday morning in October, parking in one of the free spots and walking around the grounds of the arboretum. The fall colors were extraordinary, as were the views. We enjoyed clanging the surprisingly loud bell in the arboretum. We would love to visit again when the Welcome Center is open and the gardens are in... More

We drove around for a while, stopped a few times, there was absolutely nothing to see. Mid-October, so of course, no flower garden, but no beautiful foliage either...

I'm so sorry your visit wasn't 100% satisfactory. You are correct that mid-October is a time when the gardens are not in full bloom. We have many beautiful landscapes from the gorges that surround Cornell University, to Beebe Lake, to the Arboretum and Botanical Gardens and I'm sorry you weren't able to see them in full bloom or at peak... If you like trees/flowers or just like to walk in beautiful surroundings, do not miss the chance to spend 1-3 hours walking the paths. Check info online if you do not want to miss an area of interest, or take your time and park and explore anywhere.

Had a conference here and got a chance to walk around. The land is absolutely gorgeous - especially in the fall. Very nice facilities and really nice people. Loved it!

Loved the herb gardens. Always interesting any time of year. The vegetable garden was disappointing this time of year as the food had not been harvested. Plants got planted by it looks like they forgot to follow up and pick or pull the vegetables.

Impressive Leeds Certified Welcome Center and gift store. Gorgeous grounds and gardens around the Welcome Center. The Plantation is 4000 plus acres of botanical gardens, wildflower gardens and a diverse arboretum of collections, overlooks and ponds. Just lovely! Note: There is a small parking fee in the lot by the Welcome Center, but everything else is free.
