Hunter was beautiful, colors amazing, great flea market, but not an Oktoberfest. Went here about 20+ years ago, had a huge Oktoberfest tent, lots of German bands and food. This year's event was hardly an Oktoberfest. Great day, lots of fun, but not really a German festival...they didn't even sell pretzels, what the heck? Worth the trip just for the... More

The music, food and beer were great! Lots of great vendors too. I would go back to Hunter Mountain for their Oktoberfest every year. The fall colors were beautiful this time of year.

To hike up the mountain (about 3.5 miles one way) this is the longest but easiest trail to take. It follows a maintained gravel road that is also a horse trail. Could be slippery in the rain but great on a dry day. Total elevation gain is about 2000 feet with a very high fire tower up top. Very scenic,... More

If you are an outdoor person(ski, bike, fly-fish, hike, zip-line, etc) this is the place to go! In the Spring/Summer/Fall there are multiple music options & the Woodstock scene is very close to the NYC metro. Best for those looking for an affordable second home or hotel with lots of adventure or music options. This "mountain top" area is located... More

Great music in a great setting. Have been attending Mtn Jam for years. Too bad $$$ has taken over the festival.

What great place! You can't get a better view than this, you can see all the way to the Berkshires! The zip guides were awesome...my husband is a bilateral amputee and they let him zip....where the Alaskan Zipline in Ketchican did not! He had a great time and the guides seemed genuinely happy that we came and zipped with them.... More

My family and I visited Hunter's Skyride for the 1st time this summer. we have been back 2 more times since. It's a beautiful ride and view. Take some time and walk around on top. We brought a picnic lunch and had a great time. This last visit, we walked to the Fire Tower. Its about an hour, but so... More

Hunter Mountain is great for skiing in the winter, and for zip lining, and festivals in the off season. The ski trails range from nice long easy slopes to really challenging ones. The lodge has food, a bar, and nice bathrooms (for a lodge). The view from the top (in any season) is beautiful.
