The customer service, esp front desk, are totally untrained. They make you stay in lines forever either can not read the confirmation email or just because they prefer to serve somebody else "quicker".

Faculty and staff was very rude and obnoxious wouldn't recommend it to anyone, snow was very sticky and many trails were almost completely Ice, Windham seemed much nicer

Go when a lot of snow is expected. It keeps the big crowds away. It's especially nice if you're with a beginner and need to get equipment, etc. They have a learn to ski promotion $79 included lower mountain ticket, rental, and lessons plus an all mountain pass for another, (not sure if offered on weekends).

Hunter Mountain is a well run enterprise and our favorite 'local mountain' - staff are friendly and helpful, with excellent snow making/grooming. Learn to ski options for our kids are great, instructors are patient and know what they are doing - watching our 5 year old progress pretty rapidly is just great. Would definitely reccomend!

I give Hunter Mountain three stars because I feel that their Hunter One Area Beginner slopes are uphill trails, or "Cross Country" Ski trails, as I did more climbing then sliding down there. The Main Hunter area (center) has good varied terrain, though I would say that the conditions/ skier use is not that favorable.

*Website advertises 18 chutes, which are really just to sets of 9 chutes each next to one another, unfortunately not nearly as exciting as it sounded on the website. We went there on a snowy, pretty slow day and only half the chutes were open. Since the snow slowed down the tubing quite a bit, we asked whether the other... More

but not for intermediate or advanced beginners. AND no night skiing. No much to do around town. We rented a great house (via Homeaway) one mile from the slopes for the weekend after Christmas, two families of four, kids ages 8-12. The weather leading up to our trip was not ideal for the snow conditions, which led to several slopes... More

Great Mountain Day trip. Powder runs, bumps, and sunshine. :) I enjoy the Catskills and the Hunter area seems to be on it's way back!
