Close to Hull-O Farms in Durham, NY where we stayed, this was a good excursion for a few hours. There is a lot of interesting history to this famous land-mark.

This was one of several stops, on a girls weekend getaway. The cavern tour was interesting. However we felt it was disappointing, also! While we stood in line for the boat ride, passersby sarcastically ranted about the "Awesome Waterfall"! Even though the brochure/Company states there is a waterfall, there isn't one! When you get to the end of the ride,... More

I recently just came home from a beautiful upstate ny trip . Ended up going to Howes caves. It was fun . The tour takes about 1 hour. After 40 mins I wanted to get out. I was getting anxious. Haha. Just warning you. But overall it was interesting. Enjoy. :)

a beautiful piece of mother nature , that makes one feel very small. I had visited the cavern over 15 years ago, and I remembered it being fascinating back then but felt the tour was too long. as an adult I appreciated how it's natural beauty was awe inspiring . the guide was very informative, explained just how the cavern... We have been to many caverns and this is by far the best. Lots of great formations which the guide explains so even a non geologist can understand. Gorgeous rock from stalactites to stalagmites, flow stone, soda straws. ... they have it all! I suggest you take the time and go, even if you are not in the area, it... More

My husband and I visited Howe Cavern as part of our weekend trip to Cooperstown. It wasn't very far, and I truly enjoyed it more then Cooperstown. This was nature at its best. I have visited many cavern in my life time and this was a great reminder of how pretty and creative mother nature is. It was a great... More

I had the pleasure of going to Howe Caverns. Very chilly inside at 52 degrees but the beautiful caverns lite up made you feel you were exploring a whole new world. Kinda like Huck Finn or Tom Sawyer. There are no words that can describe the beauty and magnitude of such a beautiful creation. Remeber to bring a heavy sweater... More

Venturing into a cavern has always been on my bucket list. We took the Traditional Tour. What I remember the most was the dark and moistness of the cavern. It wasn't creepy but knowing what it like being under 156 feet below the surface makes one consider how fortunate it is to have light. Watch out for the bats.
