At the great cave of the Northeast, an elevator takes you 156’below ground. The doors open into a prehistoric underground cavern 6,000,000 years in the making! Trained tour guides help negotiate the cave and teach about its magnificent natural features. Back on the surface, mine for gemstones at Howe Caverns Mining Co. Beginning summer 2011, enjoy the first phase of Howe High Adventures—featuring ropes courses, climbing walls, zip lines and more!

I loved exploring Howe caverns for the lantern tour. This is my second time going and I know it won't be my last. The lantern tours let's you explore the caves with a lantern in the dark, on you own for a half hour. Before they set you lose a tour guide will show you what the caves have to... More

We were driving back after dropping our kid off at college. We decided to have and adventure and we were not disappointed! The young man who ran our tour was very knowledgeable about all the structures, the name and stories related to the caverns. He was a Geology Graduate and was interested in getting his masters. This guy was the... More

We went to Howe Caverns on Sun, Aug 23, 2015. We got there as soon as it opened at 9am, and it wasn't busy yet. I purchased tickets for the first cave tour. It last a little less tan 2 hours, and was very chilly. They tell you on the website that the caves are kept at a constant 52... More

We did the lantern tour package and stayed for 2 nights. The hotel rate was reasonable. The lantern tour and guide were amazing. No housekeeping to tend to your room in between nights while you stay was the only downfall. The h2oG0 ball was fun as was the zip lining. The staff was attentive and great. Will go back.

Got to Howe Caverns later afternoon on a Saturday. Since there are so many things to do, it's worthwhile figuring out your schedule first, since the Cavern Tours go later than the High Adventure activities. So, instead of waiting in the long line for the Tour, you may decide to do the other activities first and then the Tour later... More

157 feet down by elevator and a constant 52F, so it can be a bit cold. Knowledgeable and friendly staff do a great job of showcasing this cave system.

Who are we? We've been to Howe Caverns twice as full paying guests and as of today, the Secret Caverns. Our family was comprised of kids ages 9-12 and adults ages 49-72. On our way to Howe Caverns (HC) we have always marveled at the funky, hand painted signs for the Secret Caverns. According to some fellow tourists they ditched... More
