At the great cave of the Northeast, an elevator takes you 156’below ground. The doors open into a prehistoric underground cavern 6,000,000 years in the making! Trained tour guides help negotiate the cave and teach about its magnificent natural features. Back on the surface, mine for gemstones at Howe Caverns Mining Co. Beginning summer 2011, enjoy the first phase of Howe High Adventures—featuring ropes courses, climbing walls, zip lines and more!

My husband and I totally enjoyed our visit at Howe Caverns. Arriving late in the day on July 2nd we enjoyed a picnic dinner outside our room taking in the spectacular view. After an enjoyable breakfast in the cafe of pancakes made with local fresh blueberries, we were ready for the first Cavern tour of the day! (9:00am) The tour... More

I've never been to a place like Howes Caverns and I thought it was pretty cool! I think if you have kids- they would really enjoy it! If you're in the area and you like natural structures this is the place to go! The people were nice and all the tour guides were very knowledgeable! Bring warm clothes- it's cold... More

My review is not for the actual caves but for the activities outside(Zip line and ropes). My husband bought the tickets for my kids to play in the activities, but our surprise and complete devastation by my kids, was when we went outside and the rude teenagers that attend the stations told us that our kids did not made the... Could you please call us immediately at 518-296-8900 to discuss your experience. Management is not even aware of this situation and find this 1 star review extremely unfair when we were never afforded the opportunity to rectify the issue. More

The caverns tour was very interesting and the Howe High Adventure was a lot of fun. Not sure if I would stay at the Hotel again...would ask to see the room before making a decision.

Thank you for your visit. I am glad you enjoyed the cave tour and our outdoor Adventure Park. Our small seasonal Motel is a great, clean place to rest your head at the convenience of staying on property. We do not have a lot of amenities but we are hoping to add some things in the near future. Come back... More

I thought my younger kids would not enjoy, but boy did they ever! It was really nice to walk through the cave with the guide, excellent family fun! My kids also did the sluice boxing they have outside and enjoyed finding the gemstones / coins. I had the 4 of them split two large bags, in hindsight I should have... More

Went to Howe Caverns with 2 young children. Tour was fun and informative. The mining was fun....even i enjoyed it. The day was a washout due to rain so outdoor activities were closed, however we were able to enjoy the day including lunch. Iroquois Indian museum a mile away as well as hidden springs. A family trip that reminded me... More

Was very awesome. I remember this as a kid. I do miss however the energetic fun tour guides, not the high school summer college kids they have no who complain about boat schedules in front of two tours. Made me feel a bit uncomfortable and it was not very professional. Other than that I had a great time.

Took three grandchildren (ages 10/10 and 5) on the cave tour. They were fascinated by the tour. They asked questions of the guide (sorry, don't remember her name but it was the 10:40 tour on Saturday, June 27). She answered their questions and really excited them about geological changes that evolved and created the cave and the river. The boat... More

Our family recently drove to northern New Jersey and upstate New York when Spirit Airlines out of Fort Lauderdale cancelled our flight due to labor issues. Howe Caverns was one of the many highlights of this trip. We stayed at the hotel on site, which was perfect after our long drive. We saw plenty of fireflies, which we don't have... More
