The doors open into a prehistoric underground cavern 6,000,000 years in the making! Trained tour guides help negotiate the cave and teach about its magnificent natural features. Back on the surface, mine for gemstones at Howe Caverns Mining Co. We visited Howe's Caverns as a side trip from Cooperstown. We all enjoyed the tour. It was very interesting to see the cavern. They have done a nice job of paving a trail and providing light throughout. i do have to agree with a prior poster that the boat ride was a bit lame. I probably wouldn't tell people to... More

Really nice country up in the Catskills (try Rt30 what a great road!) so we called and booked the "stay and tour "package. They have a nice little motel on the property which was clean and comfortable and includes an overnight stay, tour of the caves some fudge and a bag of stones to pan for gems. We've been to a few... A visit to Howe's Caverns has been on our to-do list for years. We must have passed the signs a million times. It was fun. The caves have nice flat walkways. The lighting is pretty. The guide knew what she was talking about, and it was quite lovely! The boat ride was a little dumb, it didn't seem to have... More

The kids loved it. A bit of kitsch but for sure a great spot. The kids hoped to see bats. Pricey but have been told coupons can be found, though no idea where. Worth it though, not every day you travel to an underground natural cave. 90 minute tour, very informative. Super adventure. They are adding an outdoor adventure park... More

I was amazed at the formations in this area. It doesn't rank with the known national caverns but it's impressive , especially for people who live in or are visiting the area. More

We took the last tour of the day. It was semi-private and lasted approx 1 1/2 hours. The best thing about it was that there were no crowds. We've been to many caves before (big and small) and this one seems a bit pricey and very commercialized with its brick pathway. Yet, it was still a fun experience and the... More
