At the great cave of the Northeast, an elevator takes you 156’below ground. The doors open into a prehistoric underground cavern 6,000,000 years in the making! Trained tour guides help negotiate the cave and teach about its magnificent natural features. Back on the surface, mine for gemstones at Howe Caverns Mining Co. Beginning summer 2011, enjoy the first phase of Howe High Adventures—featuring ropes courses, climbing walls, zip lines and more!

My wife and myself have been there 3 times over the years took our kids when they were young and had my parents come a few years later. In 2015 we took our friends and each time we were amazed. Over the years the entrance building has changed and a lot of adventure activity on the site has been added... More

It has been almost 20 years since our last visit. We took the lantern tour which allows guests to take the second half of the tour in the dark with only a hand held candle lantern to provide light. It was an amazing experience. Our guide was very good and knowledgeable. He was always concerned with safety gently warming us... More

We stayed at The Howe caverns motel the night before we went into the cavern which was inexpensive and very convenient. It was an amazing tour and is a must see. All ages would enjoy this trip. The staff was extremely nice and informative as well. I would recommend everyone to take this trip

This place is very near to Albany, NY and kindaa reminded me Lurey Caverns at Virginia. Apart from the cave tours the property has zip line, trampoline, adventure tasks, and Zorbing (my fav). The cave tour is a combination of walking on foot and a small boat tour. The cave tour is guided and is worth a watch once. But,... More

Thank you for your visit. There are a couple of things you mentioned that I would like to comment on. I am glad you enjoyed the cave tour and Luray Caverns sure is a beautiful cave as well. The zip line is a weight requirement of 60 pounds to participate. The H2OGO ball is extremely fun and a very popular... More

This isn't my first time going, however every time I go it gets better and better. We had a tour guide named Nick and he made the entire tour fun and interesting. Hands down my favourite time going. He did a great job and I had a lot of fun, especially with having a small group. Cannot wait to go... More

Stalagmites, stalactites, boat rides, natural bridges and stairs make Howe caves a real treat! And once your done with your trip underground, you can go back to the surface and enjoy a day at their adventure park, climbing ladders and zip-lining! They even have the h20 ball where you go inside a large inflatable ball and roll down a hill.... More

I finally visited the caverns after many years of living in NY and it was amazing! It was the perfect gathering place to meet friends and a great activity for any time! Our tour guides were new to the job and we loved every second of our tour! Zeb and Matt were fabulous! Thank you for every bit of fun... More

We enjoyed our visit to Howe Caverns. We did the traditional tour that included a boat ride ($25). The tour guide was very good in telling us about the cave and its many features. Be sure to have clothing that will keep you warm in a 50 degree environment. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We plan on coming... More

A nice informative 1 hour tour inside a natural wonder. I thought it is a bit overpriced. Be sure to take appropriate cloth for a 50deg inside temperature. We enjoined the drive to the caverns in the summer, and the few nice formations inside. Great if you like to take a day trip if you have nothing else to do.

This is the most visited cave in New York state. There are many reasons to visit this family friendly cave. From the stalagmites and stalactites to the heart rock (where many weddings take place). The back story behind how the cave was found is interesting to hear. I wont spoil it but it has to do with a farmer, his... More
