Plaza de Armas is one of the three or four most charming spots in Queretaro. There are several tourist-y restaurants/bars bracketing it, and the Governor's Palace dominating one side. Radiating outward from it are several Aztec/Chichimec pedestrian alleys with various carts selling jewelry and clothing, as well as Cinco de Mayo, the city's main party avenue. It's a great place... The Plaza de Armas is one of the many squares in the centre of Queretaro with fountains, trees and free wifi! At Armas there is also the iconic 'QUERETARO' sign made in colourful 10’ pieces. Well worth a visit. Some really excellent restaurants around the square also, including the Meson de Santa Rosa.

Plaza de Armas is in the old city part of Queretaro. It is a lively place from early morning until night. Good restaurants surround the plaza. Great to enjoy some good mexican food or to have a drink or two and watch the world go by. Colorful people, street musicians, etc. A place I'm comfortable and feel safe as an... More

Unless you're a Historian with a MA or PhD in Querétaro, it does not seem to be a useful place. It is like many Plaza de Armas, it stated something about political power and that is that. Yes, many people use it like public garden to gather together and walk or talk or meet. Well, that's it.

Very well preserved (as the rest of downtown Querétaro), surrounded by many cafes and restaurants, and with one of the main attractions in the City: la "Casa de la Corregidora", a must-visit when in Querétaro. And whether it is day or night, one may find a beautiful spot to stay and/or take a good photo!

Trimmed laurel trees line this very orderly plaza. It is/was surrounded by prestigious mansions, government offices, hotels, and restaurants. A bit staid for my taste.

At the center of the square the Marquis de la Villa del Villar del Aguila is honored with a monument, the trees (cotton wooods) are trimmed, the buildings and houses around it at of noble proportions, some with lovely baroque details. The atmosphere is placid.

I went to see plaza during Christmas holidays and was surprised by the way fountain and trees were decorated with hand made dools. Wery nice plaza surrounded by beautiful trees.

Step inside the local government building to see the murals of Mexican history. Recommend megusta segway tour to get here or just walk.

My friend and I decided to stop by this place to eat a sunday afternoon. What a surprise when we heard this band singing and make people around dance! The place is clean, there are restaurants, little shops, fountains, statues, etc. This is really a lovely place with good animations!
