Great for swimming and fishing . Fisherman are very friendly they allowe you to fish with their rods. The Durban to Portugues Island cruise goes to this island, can be full with tourist from the cruise on Saturday's.

Portuguese Island is right by Inhaca, therefore a few hours from Maputo. It's unspoilt and usually 100% empty (except for the National Parks guards ready to charge you 200mtn for getting on the island). As nice as it is nearby Inhaca has the interesting village, and great snorkelling at southern tip. Closer to Maputo Xefina Island is similarly almost deserted...

Great beach and clean warm sea. Great for kids as you the water is very shallow. You can walk for hours, sorkel and just enjoy yourself. Found loads of fossilized sea stars.

MSC recently started some or other development on the island that can be a benefit to the island as an alternative to Inhaca Island. Beautiful beach - and remember your 200 Mts for Island Tax.
