This is a nice mountain for families as the terrain is nice and flat throughout. The layout is such that the advanced trail which is only a small part of the trail is at the top and it slowly turns to intermediate. This mountain is state-owned and so a lot of work has been done to preserve the trees and... More

I love Belleayre! This is the place where I learned to ski two years ago after few unsuccessful attempts at other mountain resorts. I only wonder why it is so underestimated / underrated while compared to other resorts. Below is the quick summary of some pro and cons about this place. And by the way - if you want a... More

I've been skiing Belleayre since 1980. Best resort in the Catskills !! Great staff, excellent snow conditions (even when the other resorts are losing theirs), excellent variety of terrain.

Sorry to say, this is a dumpy ski mountain, smaller local ranges are better. The lodge is the pits, it's way over priced for garbage food. So disappointed, I'll never go back.

We had a blast at this mountain. We were with our young kids, and our skill level is not that high, so we were happy to stick with green trails. They are decently long and well groomed. The ski instructors were great with our kids and really helped them become independent in a couple of private lessons. The lodge is... More

Kids camp is very well done. Instructors were professional and honest. It has been a great ski season, and Belleayre is a great family/beginners spot. Was here 20 years ago, good memories

This ski center is 2.5 hours away from New York City by car. It's reasonably priced, you can buy tickets online and pick up a tag at the ticket window at your arrival. There's also plenty of parking available. Belleayre offers quite a few medium difficulty (blue) trails which I really enjoy at my ski level. I come here during... More

Granted there are issues that come with a small place (one of the lifts stopped for 30m midday for maintenance, forcing everyone to walk back to the lodge), but no-one minded. Great for a weekend of skiing from NYC. Low key, inexpensive, happy service, no lines, no incredible runs but incredible family place. We'll be back

Pro's Expert Intermediate and Beginner slopes are separate. Reasonably priced Well maintained Con's Wish there was more skiable area. This great little ski area was built in the late 50's. This year they have renovated some of the facilities to improve the mountain. There are no inexperienced skiers from manhattan skiing down the center of the mountain in your way.... More

First off, we really like this place, it's state run, old school, really good terrain and they have two good bars. On the downside, this place drives me crazy in that people seem to think they're entitled to 'reserve' tables for the day, especially in the Overlook Lodge. I've seen people spread out their tablecloths to mark their territory. I... More
