My son and I have done a few Erie Canal cruises and wanted to learn more about this bit of history. We were very impressed with this tour. The captain was like a walking history book and we learned so much about this portion of the canal as well as the surrounding area. The other staff were very nice and... More

We took this cruise because of a Groupon and it was great! I'm originally from Syracuse,NY and never realized just how significant the Erie Canal was not only to our state but to our country. It takes almost two hours and is well worth it. Just going through the working lock is awesome! Captain Jerry Gertz is loaded with information... More

We booked the trip with a nice lady earlier that day.got on the boat,it wasnt full.so we expected to have a nice and peaceful cruise.Well.if the captain wasnt talking thru the speaker system, she would put in a cd,that would essentially tell us the same thing she just spent 30 minutes explaining to us.made us feel like we were in a... This was a nice cruise especially for handicap people but very noisy and unable to hear the history comments. THe cruise is 90 mins and of this 20 mins are spent going through Lock 18 roundtrip. This part was interesting but after you go through the Lock 18 one way 5 mins later we turned around and went back through... More

My wife and I totally enjoyed this amazing Erie Canal Cruise. The scenery was beautiful and the commentary was informative and educational. The captain actually took us through one of the locks and back! don't miss your opportunity to experience this. We definitely would recommend this.

Wonderful trip, better than expected. To begin with: friendly ticket personnel, followed by great store with mostly products made in New York-what a relief from not reading "Made in China", then boat personnel kept passengers informed and engaged. Good stories from the captain. Entertaining ride. We now have a better history of the Erie Canal. Very interesting especially if you... More

We've been on other cruises down the Erie Canal, but I learned more on this sight-seeing cruise than on any other. Learned about the history of the Erie Canal, but also learned facts about the construction we'd never known before (for instance, who knew that Leonardo Da Vinci designed the lock gates in a V shape with the point facing...
