Learn about the history of the canal and enjoy the view on this cruise. In a couple of hours the very interesting pilot tells tales about the canal and sailing in general. Children were encouraged to try their hand at the wheel when we weren't in lock areas. Very nice. At the dock is a giftshop and a nice restuarant.

Five us went on this 3pm cruise on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon. As the 1pm was disembarking two of the travelers said without being prompted "You are going to enjoy this" and right they were. It is a 90 minute cruise that leaves and returns to the starting point so you do see the same scenery twice but you can... More

I've passed their dock for years as I drove to and from Syracuse - kept thinking "that would be fun." Well, I retired in April, and saw a Groupon in May - so I bought it. And today, Ed & I used it! Captain Chrissie was delightful and interspersed the recorded CD frequently. Learned LOTs that I'd forgotten (it's been... More

I purchased a 4 pack of tix on Groupon. Great price. Boat is super clean and has a variety of seating options. There is a bar that serves cocktails and lemonades - $6.50 for a lemonade (free refills and a thermal cup you get to keep. Not a bad deal). The cruise narrator was good - informative without being boring.... More

We took our grand daughter on the cruise. It was informative and interesting. We went up and down in a lock and learning many facts about the canal and it's history. It was a pleasant experience. The captain and crew were very personable. The cruise took about 90 minutes. We would recommend it.

What a pleasant way to spend a beautiful Saturday afternoon with friends. The captain and the crew were great. We learned quite a bit about the Erie Canal and that area of Upstate New York. This is a must do if you are in the Catskills.

We took this relaxing, informative cruise on a lovely summer day. The captain shared the history of the canal throughout the cruise. He was very informative and interesting. He shared his love of being on the water with us all. He was happy to answer questions. The crew was friendly and courteous. The boat was comfortable and clean. Going through... More

My son and I have done a few Erie Canal cruises and wanted to learn more about this bit of history. We were very impressed with this tour. The captain was like a walking history book and we learned so much about this portion of the canal as well as the surrounding area. The other staff were very nice and... More

We took this cruise because of a Groupon and it was great! I'm originally from Syracuse,NY and never realized just how significant the Erie Canal was not only to our state but to our country. It takes almost two hours and is well worth it. Just going through the working lock is awesome! Captain Jerry Gertz is loaded with information... More
