Beautifully located n Cayuga Lake. Very friendly servers who know their wines. Highly recommended if you're on the Cayuga Lake winery tour.

Sheldrake is in my top 10 places to visit in the Finger Lakes (probably in my top 5). Their rieslings are out of this world, and they have a great dry rose for hot summer days (nice gewurtztraminer, too - but not as dry of course). Their reds are not to be missed, either -- we liked the cabernet sauvignon... More

Brand new, state-of-the-art tasting room on Seneca Lake (winery is on Cayuga Lake). Not busy at all the day we were there, but the server didn't seem very interested in pouring, nor did she know much about the wine (perhaps she was new). Don't like the setup - you must choose a flight of red or white, no mixing or... More

Ohh.... and the wines are damn good too! Stopped in on a hot summer day - mid-week, and we were the only three people there. The tasting room in Hector is new, and it stands-out as such. Don't be confused - this is not the winery -- this is the NEW tasting room. Staff: Very friendly Wines: Definitely among the... More

Having avoided most winery's in the region because we were driving quite a lot and it is best to avoid temptation, with a bit of time on our hands we followed the signs to Sheldrake Point winery on Cayuga Lake. The wine tasting was a real treat, to explore the winery's own products with a knowledgeable host was great and... More

A must try and a fun place to do so! Attentive, knowledgable staff. The wine selection favors drier wines but there are several unique ice wines to choose from.

Many excellent and unusual wines - Cabernet Franc, anyone? How about Cab Franc icewine? And the usual excellent reisling, of course. The vines go up the slope behind the tasting room, with Cayuga Lake right across the road below - very scenic in both directions.

My wife and I have toured Finger Lakes wineries for some thirty years, have watched them grow, come and go, and improve. Sheldrake Point on the west side of Cayuga Lake has consistently ranked among our favorites, and we never miss going there. Winemaker Dave Breeden is exceptional, especially with his whites which win many awards. Highly recommend the Gewurztraminer,... More

Because I am not a dry-wine love, I didn't give this place any higher of a rating. The staff was a bit snobbish for my taste too. Not a relaxing experience at all. My mother-in-law does drink dry wine and she didn't care for any of the samples she tried.

Very nice place, nice view, great staff and fine wines. Enjoyed our tasting, purchased wine and got friendly advice on other places to visit. Too bad the restaurant closed.
