On October 7, 2014, my group of four visited Dr. Frank's Wine Cellar at Keuka Lake, Hammondsport, New York. The wine tastings are free. The gentleman pouring our wine tastings was quite humorous and had a quick wit that made our wine tastings even more enjoyable. The wines we tasted were are above average. The winery is known for producing... More

The Manager or whoever was at the door turned 12 of us away today although they were letting other people in for tastings! It was not late- about 3:45 and we were not intoxicated like some of the people obviously were. And the Manager said " but you can buy our wine"! Buy your wine without a tasting? I don't... More

This is the oldest winery in the region, and there were more people here than in any other we visited. We had to wait for a tasting, but once we made it to the bar, it was wonderful. The wine hostess was very knowledgeable. My husband and I shared our tastings, so we were able to sample 10 different wines,... More

Try a tasting while viewing the lake and then bring home some bottles. The wine is excellent and dry and medium dry.

I will preface this by saying that working in the Wine industry I have very high expectations of my experience when visiting wineries. Nonetheless I was very pleased with my visit here. This was one of the must visit wineries on my first trip to the finger lakes, as a winery of great historic importance I had high hopes for... More

We have been going to Dr. Frank's every summer for a few years now. It is ALWAYS on our must visit list! The wines and champagnes are both great at this place. It is truly one of the standouts in the Finger Lake region. The tasting room has a great view and the pourers are always friendly and knowledgeable. Allen... More

We only went to 4 wineries over our weekend getaway and this one was worth it. The wine was really good and surprisingly the only winery that didn't charge you for the tastings, especially for the number of wines we got to try. We would've bought wine if we could bring some back without paying the duty...but we would go... More

Nice tasting room experience, beautiful views, friendly staff. Wines are well balanced and delicious. Easily one of the top in the area. The wines are priced competitively and there is no fee for tasting. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a delicious Finger Lakes Riesling!
