We have taken our children to this center many times and are now members. The staff of mostly volunteers are wonderful, caring and very knowledgeable about the animals and habitat. The new playground is beautifully designed and fun for kids of all ages. They offer programs, talks and events constantly so check out their website before visiting. Better yet, become... More

Nice way to spend a day with the family. You can peruse the exhibits, speak with the nature experts, walk on the trails. We used to take the children here often when they were younger.

We now return with our grandchildren who love this place as much as their parents did when they were children. The staff is assisted by many volunteers (middle & high school students), most of whom are knowledgable and seem to like kids. They take the animals out and allow the kids to touch & handle them. If you plan to... More

I wish there was more to this place. It is a great concept but I always leave disappointed. It's really all about funding. They do the best they can with limited funds and volunteers. Unless they are having a special event it is not the place to take children older than 8 or so. There is simply not that much... More

There are... More

It's a beautiful and peaceful nature center with birds, fish, reptiles and small animals. My kids attended their summer camp and had a great time feeding and watching the animals. They did crafts and made s'mores. They really enjoyed it. The staff were wonderful with them. Lovely trails to walk around and enjoy the scenery. They are also getting a... More

This is a lovely sanctuary -- so many interesting local species (reptiles, fish, birds, small mammals). If you go on the right day the staff will gladly take an animal out for you to take a closer look. Interesting bee and insect exhibits too. Great for young children -- walking trails in the back are cool, too.

The Nature Center is a quiet adventure in the middle of Westchester county just south of White Plains. They have an indoor animal museum, which is actually a petting zoo type thingy. The volunteers will take out almost any animal you want for a closer look and touch if you want. The animals include snakes, turtles, lizards, ferrets, birds, chinchilla,... More
