So much history and natural beauty- make sure you see the rock art and Cecil Rhode's grave too. What a view from up there! Highly recommend the Rhino tracking.

Beautiful location. I spent a great day tracking rhinos in the morning and getting very close to a large number of them just before going through the park gate. Saw the dam and interesting rock formations before having a picnic lunch and taking a short hike to a cave with paintings. Next up was the world view with Cecil Rhodes,... More

The Matobo Hills are home to unique and often surreal boulder formations within the Motopos National Park. We stayed at the self catering Maleme Rest Camp. The lodges were decent - spacious and with all the amenities you require. We were unlucky and experienced a day long blackout, which made life interesting (sadly, there's no generator). There are plenty of... More

It seems to me that the Matopos NP is the sort of place that people seem to either go into raptures over or thoroughly hate. For myself, having been quite a few times it is a bit of both I must admit. Clearly, the natural landscape is besotting and the human history of the place is truly remarkable. So, that... More

I liked the spectacular, open wooded valleys that are surrounded by huge granite outcrops. Also enjoyed viewing the bushman cave paintings and Rhodes Grave. The department that controls the park and the other one that runs monuments inside the park should liaise and charge only one price.

After staying at the disappointing Farmhouse we moved to the National Parks Lodges with the most amazing view! Cecil John Rhodes's grave is still so well maintained! The history of the site still amazes me. There were a lot of Ndebele visitors which was great. I spoke to a gentleman as we looked at the plinth dedicated to those who... More

We spent a beautiful day on a tour of Matobos Hills. It was one of the most serene and calming places we have visited. Cecil Rhodes' final resting place is truly an eternal spot. One can see for miles around. Our guide was excellent in telling us fabulous stories both of Rhodes and the vicinity. There are many small colourful... More

Amazingly, I found Rhino in the Park! and lots of rock paintings. Climbing up to Rhodes's Grave (World's View) was exciting, and the view while you are at the top is great! My son learnt a lot from the historical meusiums dotted in the park.

A visit to Mapopos national Park, is a must when visiting Zimbabwe. The boulder formations are very unusual and pretty much unique to this area. The park aslo holds an outstanding lodge (Camp Amalinda), good gameviewing opportunities and more surprisingly good cave paintings

Not a park for wildlife but for the scenery and the rock paintings. Very few people around. There a good picnic areas next to the dams
