We didn't have time to fully explore the park, so didn't see everything. It is quite large, with sculptures placed far apartment and there are a lot of paths to explore. Would love to go back and spend more time, and check out some of the programs they have to offer. You might want to go early if it is... More

Congratulations to the founders of OMI Arts Center and Fields of Sculpture. The permanent installations and changeable exhibitions are top notch and add to the cultural offerings in the Hudson River Valley. Works by established and lesser known sculptors are installed on the rolling landscape and in the woods which adds to the flavor of the park. Additionally it is... More

Awesome to find OMI out here nestled amongst the hills. Enjoyed walking through the fields and exploring the different exhibits as well as the artists studios and many times they will also have an artist or author speaking in the visitor center/cafe.

Whenever I visit a cousin in Old Chatham, we usually stop by The Fields at OMI to see the outdoor sculptures scattered about some 90 acres. On the visit in June, we had a mutual friend from high school along for the ride. We were happy to see that the Visitor Center had added a cafe. The barn houses artist... More

I have mixed feeling about the fields sculpture park. It's an amazing experience to walk through acres and come up sculpture out in the open, hidden behind trees, and placed in the ground. Eventhough you know a new sculpture is around the bend, its still an odd experience to come upon in in the woods. That part of the experience... More

Great art, beautiful scenery. There is a new cafe in the visitor's centre, which is great after a spring or fall stroll through the sculpture fields. For an extra, visit the artists' studios at the nearby barn complex.

We have visited the open studio days at Art Omi several times over the years and always found them to be satisfying and intriguing. This September we attended a contemporary dance performance for all the dancers in residence. It was truly superb. Omi has also opened a visitors center with a restaurant, offering dishes from local Columbia Country produce, and... More

a pleasant walk: some of the art is half hidden and some can't be missed. We especially enjoyed the changing view of the "double boxes" pictured at this website. The view of this piece changes amazingly with each step. My sister's favorite is likely the large figures that look like they are dripped with candle wax or the bedsteads with... More

Ok, so modern art is not really my thing. However, I thought it would be nice to view some outdoor art. It was nice walking the grounds and taking pictures of the various displays. There are some hidden ones, so you need to pay attention, especially in the woods. It ended up being a nice way to end a nice... More
