Cute street

Loved this cute street! The houses are very pretty and have a lot of character. Plus the views of the lake from the street are amazing.

We got the walking tour map of South Main Street from the Historical Museum in one of the houses. A great way to get to know the history of this section of Geneva and William & Hobart College.

very clean, safe city. Looked like there were a variety of great restaurants with diverse menus. A good way to spend an evening exploring.

No meters to feed!!!! Free parking for up to two hours along the main streets even so dining was hassle free. Plenty of parking for walks along the lakefront.

I lived on South Main for about five years, in two different apartments (one in a row house, one in a detached home). It is very, very pretty, especially in the spring and summer -- reminds me of photos (because I have never been there) of Charleston, SC. Lovely for a stroll between downtown and the Hobart & William Smith... More

Ate lunch at the Beef and Brew and enjoyed it very much. Had an old fashioned atmosphere. Our waitress told us on Saturday nights they remove all the pictures and tables and turn it into a party place catering to the local college students.

The self-guided walking tour, provided by the Geneva Historical Society, allows time to linger at the most gorgeous period homes so integral to the founding, and longevity, of the village; now back on the upswing with great new restaurants and bars and a fabulous Opera House. This is a delight for anyone interested in historic architecture.

Numerous very attractive and well-maintained houses, both row-houses and detached houses, many 150-200 years old. Lovely views of the lake in between and along one empty stretch opposite the Hobart campus.

Main street is just 2 streets up from the lake and there are some convenient mom and pop shops for coffee and meals. There is also a Wegman's just up 5 20 and a liquor store across the plaza, where we got local wines. The liquor store has been handed down from father to son and the sales lady was... More

South Main St. was lovely but not what I thought. It's fine for a drive but that takes minutes. Do it when you have nothing better to do.
