Ate lunch at the Beef and Brew and enjoyed it very much. Had an old fashioned atmosphere. Our waitress told us on Saturday nights they remove all the pictures and tables and turn it into a party place catering to the local college students.

The self-guided walking tour, provided by the Geneva Historical Society, allows time to linger at the most gorgeous period homes so integral to the founding, and longevity, of the village; now back on the upswing with great new restaurants and bars and a fabulous Opera House. This is a delight for anyone interested in historic architecture.

Numerous very attractive and well-maintained houses, both row-houses and detached houses, many 150-200 years old. Lovely views of the lake in between and along one empty stretch opposite the Hobart campus.

Main street is just 2 streets up from the lake and there are some convenient mom and pop shops for coffee and meals. There is also a Wegman's just up 5 20 and a liquor store across the plaza, where we got local wines. The liquor store has been handed down from father to son and the sales lady was... More

South Main St. was lovely but not what I thought. It's fine for a drive but that takes minutes. Do it when you have nothing better to do.

I went back to Geneva after being away for 5 decades. The stroll down South Main Street brought back memories of a simpler time but the view was equally spectacular as before. A French magazine, in the 50's, voted South Main Street in Geneva N.Y as one of the 7 prettiest streets in the world. In my view, for good... More

sunny day for a walk down Main Street to see what was happening and what new in the areas because there been added store and improvement on the businesses that already in the areas and few place eating areas outside to enjoy the weather.

I'll be honest, I love Geneva, New York. It's big enough to be a complete city, with tourist attractions, manufacturing facilities, and a bar on every corner. It sits at the "top" of Lake Seneca, a lake similar in size and depth to Loch Ness, although, alas, it has no "Nessie." You can stroll along South Main Street and during... More

We felt the downtown area in Geneva had great potential for continued revitalization. It was not quite as busy as the more travelled Canandagua downtown area and had a "nicer feel". I hope that there continues to be revitalization with more upscale shops and restaurants to come.

I live in Geneva and am very proud of our Row Houses and the restorations Hobart College has done on other South Main Street Houses and Buildings.
