As a disclaimer, I have say that I have been involved with restoration and operation of this venue since before its grand reopening 20 years ago. I bring my prejudices with me. In an area of the country mostly known for its Rust Belt economy and lake-effect snows, the 1891 FOH is a shining jewel in the Fredonia and northern... More

The opera house has been a main place in Fredonia for many years it was a movie theater in my youth and since has been painstakingly returned to its original splendor of 1891. There are a wide variety of different venues held here. From travel logs to amateur theater.

We like to go to the weekly first run films shown at the opera house. While there is no 'surround sound' or plush 'recliner' style chairs, you are watching movies in a historic theater that has played host to some of the world's greatest performers. Velvet covered seats in the balcony are the best view in the house. And there... More

An amazing historic opera house from the 1800's. Many famous have performed there. The local university had a show there and this low budget performance looked professional and higher budget.

I grew up in Fredonia and when I was a teenager this was where we went to the movies. It's wonderful that someone has renovated the theater section of the building into a quasi 1890s setting. I've never been there when a production or movie was playing. I hear from others that the entertainment is good to great. It's so... More

This is a wonderful, hidden gem within the village of Fredonia. The venue is unexpected and fantastic once you're inside. It is very easy to drive by and never notice what is hidden behind the brick walls. The variety of entertainment from what movies to live performances his great. Wonderful addition to small-town life.

This is a very interesting venue where they show, plays independent movies and cultural events. The atmosphere is that of a turn of the century theatre, this coupled with their good selection of entertainment makes for a very enjoyable evening. Reasonably priced.

So nice to see a piece of history preserved! We enjoyed RUDOLF THE RED NOSED REINDEER with the children. An interactive play was fun for them and their Rudolf souvenir they stuffed them selves was enjoyed as well. A nice introduction to theater for kids.

Excellent show! So unique to have live accompaniment to this classic B&W film. The opera house is beautiful and the story of its rescue from the wrecking ball by the citizens of Fredonia is an inspiration.
