I have taken my classes here several times. It is a small, but wonderfully run zoo. It is perfect for young children, or when you don't want to spend hours and hours at the zoo. All the animals are original to North America, so you won't be observing any African animals that the kids love to see. Get to the... More

This was very interesting for my kids and they enjoyed being able to see different animals. After we settle at our nice big clean hotel room.

I have been coming to The Queens Zoo for years now! My daughters are older now and I haven't been in a few years. Today I enjoyed a few hours with my niece & nephew. It is a perfect size to walk thru with small children. I enjoyed the new educational areas that were added on. The only thing I... More

This is in no way the Bronx zoo but for an afternoon stroll thru a park-like zoo this is a good choice. There is a petting zoo on one side of the street and the other side has the more "exotic" animals.

On a hot weekend day, my sister, niece and I trekked out on the 7 train to 111th St. to visit the Queens Zoo. The Zoo turned out to be about a 15-minute walk from the subway. It was definitely worth the ride! Approaching the entrance to the Zoo, one traverses blacktop surrounded by a thicket of trees on both... More

My spouse and I took our two children, (2.5 years and 11 months) to the zoo on a gorgeous summer day. We all had a wonderful experience. The zoo is a very manageable size for the little ones. An easy to walk loop takes you through a nice range of well-maintained exhibits. They have birds, cats, seals, reindeer, bison, a... More

This is an update to my original review. (which is worth the read!) I would like to add that the bird sanctuary is AWESOME. I chaperoned a group of 100+ hard to please 8-9 year olds to the zoo. I prayed by the time we left the birds would remain unharmed....... this group LOVED this exhibit the best out of... More

I would go back to visit again. Most animals were sleeping but its very good stroll not busy. Visited with a toddler. The best part is the petting zoo. My grandson really enjoyed that. Make sure u bring a hand sanitizer.

I like walking distance from Central Park Zoo and purchased an annual WCS pass for my twin boys 15 months old. I decided to check out the Queens Zoo since its covered in the pass, along with Coney Island Aquarium, Bronx, and Prospect zoos. The Queens Zoo is very good!! Its like middle ground between Central Park zoo and Bronx... More
