The beach hut has good enough food and live music. The beach is a little dirty and the people are a little loud. There are so many beaches that are better that are worth the extra drive.

We got an early start, and arrived at the parking lot by 10:15. We were pleasantly surprised by the $15 parking fee. We had expected to pay twice as much as out of state visitors. Nice job Suffolk Co.! We found a spot right on the high tide line and enjoyed about 2 hours of peace and quiet. By 12:30,... More

A great ocean beach - exit 68S on LIE and exit 58S on the Sunrise Highway. $15 to park during the day - free after 5pm. Live music on Friday & Saturday nights. There are restrooms, food & beverages available. Also, a campground if you make your reservations far in advance. I recommend going in the evenings. A great view... More

This place is a dump. It's dirty with dog crap all over. With all the money the county makes they should enforce some rules. Wait we did see the park police riding bikes trying to catch campers drinking. Many of the spots are very small and people have no respect for parking on the street. The playground is definitely not... More

There are several things you can do. Of course the Ocean beach has good waves for body surfing and limited surf boarding but they also have tent and RV camp sites for Suffolk county residents. You can go for long walks along the tranquil ocean shore, check out a nature trail or go wilderness camping in a 7 mile National... More

The only good thing about this place is the beach. Staff is sometimes pleasant, sometimes not. Overpriced. Should be more campsites with full hookups. Not very clean sites or restrooms. Garbage pickup needs to improve. Reservation system is the worst. Extremely difficult for locals to reserve.

This park has lots to see. i went in the winter, just pulling into the parking area, we found 3 red foxes and about 6 deer. Being a photographer, it was great to see these animals. It wasn't so great that people bring bread/bagels to feed them, not the best thing for these animals to eat. There are no fees... More

My family and I took a trip to Smith Point Beach in Shirley, NY this past weekend (on Fire Island, the barrier island on Long Island's south shore). Shirley, and this beach, are places that I used to spend my summers in back in the 70's. Lot of great memories. While Shirley and Mastic Beach haven't held up all that... More

Had a beautiful morning at this Historic Beach ! Other than the $15 parking charge, beaches were well maintained and plenty of Life-guards were on scene ! Landscaping around Memorial there to honor the people of Flt 800 from July17,2002 ! Amazing beauty !
