I visit into Tanglewood at least once per month. I have a three year old son. On Saturdays we visit the Museum at Tanglewood, which is always a good way to spend an hour. Did I mention everything is FREE. Donations are gladly accepted, and I encourage you to drop a few dollars in the donation box. The Museum offers... More

My Google GPS gave me a mis-read for 443 Coleman, but I continued down the road and found the center. It has a small nature center with some live animals and other exhibits. Very nice, pretty trails to walk around the property. You might luck out and have the whole place to yourself.

This is the perfect place to take your child if they have a love of unusual pets and animals that rarely stand still in nature long enough to be viewed and enjoyed by little ones. The outdoor areas with a few small raptors is a interesting time if you get there when they are being fed, but be careful if... More

A beautiful setting in the hills outside of Elmira. Had fun browsing through the small museum and the grounds are great! Knowledgeable and helpful staff. A nice spot to explore and sit awhile to relax. Great find!

OK, so I'm biased......I maintain a glass walled observation beehive and I do a lot of miscellaneous volunteer work there. I do it because its a great place and I want to help them get even better. The place has miles of beautiful walking/hiking/cross country ski/snowshoing trails. The main building/museum has live animals (hawks, owls, other birds, tortose, rattlesnake, other... More

The Nature Center is hosted by a great group of volunteers who make you feel like family. The surrounding areas-trails, ponds etc are nicely maintained. We had some snow fall while there and took advantage of the snow shoe and cross country ski trails-what fantastic views of the endless mountains. A nice place and a nice time was had by... More

When my grandchildren visited from the DC area this past summer we took them to Tanglewood for a day outing. Their parents were impressed by the quality and interactiveness of this small nature center and said it was "big city" standards. The kids loved seeing all the critters and then went on to enjoy a small hike in the surrounding... More
