We chose to sample here as we were told Dr. Frank on Keuka Lake and Hermann Wiemer on Lake Seneca were the two who started the whole Great Lakes Region Wine Industry. A charming, rustic tasting room with a knowledgeable pourer made for a nice visit. Unlike Dr. Frank, Mr. Wiemer believes in charging for a tasting. You will find... More

Though this was our first sojourn into the Finger Lakes area, we have been to various other wine regions in the US and Europe. The Wiemer winery has to be one of my faves ever! Aside from the fact that their wines ROCK (Rieslings of course, but don't overlook their Cab Franc and Pinot), I don't think I have ever... More

The wine tasting was a lot of fun. We were amazed how much we enjoyed the Reisling wines. Their selection of Rieslings was wonderful! We bought several bottles. The only fee here is if you opt to do a tasting - $5 for five tastes.

Very nice setting, very knowledgeable staff....of the 15 or so wineries we visited this week this one has the best wine. There was not a single wine I tasted I did not want to buy. Because of this, and the fact they seem to know they have the best wine, they charge top dollar with their cheapest wine being like... More

This is a top notch winery with great wines. And some that I cannot afford to buy. The facility is really beautiful along with a charming home. They were mobbed here with a lot of patrons. A must stop on the Seneca Wine trail. It has much charm, and great wine.

Wiemer is a can't miss winery for serious wine enthusiasts. Relisting and Gewurztraminer wines are excellent. There is a tasting fee as well as different options for tasting; you can make selections from the list or try a flight. Staff is warm and welcoming in addition to being very, very knowledgeable about the wine and region.

The delicacy and wonderful mouth of the Chardonnays and Rieslings almost leave you speechless. In fact, each of the varieties of whites we tasted was one that was definitely going to go home with us. Of the wineries we visited, Hermann J. Weimer Vineyard wines are among our top few choices. Do not miss this fine vineyard's offerings.

My wife and I have always been fans of HW reisling. We were in the area and seen the sign so we stopped. The gentleman pouring the wine was one of the owners and gave us both generous glasses of the best wine I have had on a tasting thus far. The setting is a huge rustic looking barn that... More

While I didn't do the tasting, all the wives did and they all said the same thing: This was the best winery of the 7 we visited. I'll take their word for it. It's a very rustic setting with plenty of parking and they sell vine stems you can take home and plant! We were all pretty wiped out after... More

We stopped at the Weimer wine tasting room on our way to Corning. The facility is lovely and the staff were warm and friendly. I recommend it as a stop just for the friendly staff. As for the wine, everyone has their own tastes, so I leave that up to you. I will say, they are all sweeter than you... More
