This museum has a wonderful collection of Western Art and well worth a visit. Combine it with a joint ticket to the Corning Museum of Glass to save a little money.

"Western" in the title refers to the American West and not, say, anything west of Persia but east of Oceana. It's a surprise to find such a collection in Corning, NY. It would be less of a surprise in, say, Tulsa OK. I guess the pride of the Museum is the huge Bierstadt painting of Mt. Whitney. It is indeed... More

At first we thought it was a Norman Rockwell museum and were disappointed but the art in this museum is amazing and the sculptures are incredible. Very worth your time.

I actually visited here many years ago while waiting for the corning museum to thin out a bit. It ended up being the highlight of our visit and I am sure it is even better these days. I am a retired professional artist and former homeschooling mother of four children all born at home with a midwife. No life experience,... More

We hesitated about visiting this museum of western art, because we live in the West. We did visit, and we were not disappointed. This is a small museum, and very well curated. There are Remingtons, and also contemporary pieces that we really enjoyed. There were two special exhibits when we visited, one a collection of pots from the Southwest, and... More

This is a very small museum, Some of the pieces were interesting, but not the style of art I am interested in. If you like Indian Art and Cowboy Art. you would probably enjoy this museum.

I love seeing the Remington paintings and sculpture. The rest is gravy. The Inuit sculpture was a pleasant surprise. I'll be back next time I'm in Corning.

Bought the combo ticket for this and the Corning Glass Museum. It is worth seeing with this combo but it is very lackluster. Not a whole lot but what is there is nice.

I guess I was expecting more than just artwork. What they have is very nice. I was just expecting more in the way of artifacts.

There are three floors and a nice souvenir gift shop. Everything is spacious and the quality of the pieces is very nice. Locals are treated to regular events here and the top floor has a balcony view of Corning. The location is great for Market Street viewing and you are only a few blocks away from the Museum of Glass.... More
