Stopped by on an off day with our young son, who loves all things train related. One of the volunteer staff went out of his way to give us a tour and information on the railroad, his knowledge & enthusiasm were contagious! This location should be much higher on the "things to do" list.

Congrats to the railroad , volunteers, and private motorcar (speeder) owners for a wonderful time this past weekend. The public was allowed to go through equipment normally off-limits and ride on several speeders, velocipedes and handcars much to the joy of the children. The inside Lionel model railroad gave much enjoyment to a throng of youngsters who ran the 3... More

My friend and I decided to ride the rails and hopefully enjoy good food, and entertainment. What we discovered was excessive drinking, cigarette smoke, and pipes of pot being passed around stinking up the air while we tried to listen to the band!!!! People were hitting the bar car hard and carrying four to five cans of beer with them... More

Maybe something children might enjoy. Very pricey for a slow train ride from it's origin, then back to it's origin. Went on here twice. Once with a class trip and once with a friend. Too loud outside for a conversation. Perhaps more enjoyable for a tourist wanting to enjoy the beautiful fall foliage that Upstate has to offer. Will not... More

Yesterday a group of friends organized a superb outing on The C&CV riding the Ice Cream train north from Milford Depot. The railroad folks very generously loaded twelve canoes and kayaks on their flatbed and then let us off the train just south of Cooperstown. We put the canoes and kayaks in the river and paddled back down to a... More

First of all, I would like to start by thanking the staff of the railroad for being so incredibly accommodating in light of our special request. Ours was not an ordinary ride. For years my husband has wanted to canoe down the Susquehanna River; it starts at the south end of the lake. After doing some research he wondered if... More

We missed the fall foliage the weekend we took the train. It was a pumpkin patch train which was fun. They provided free snacks (apple cider and cider cookies) and you could purchase snacks too. This train was a working train in the 1950's-1960's (I think). The staff on the train are all volunteers and we had a nice time... More

We had looked at the website and decided to take the train ride, but did not see how long the ride was. We were looking forward to the scenic ride, but did not realize it was going to take 2 1/2 hours to go back and forth to Cooperstown - 8 miles one way. There were several windows on board... More

Our 3rd Blues Express in September, which was the last for 2012 was as memorable and fun as ever with the band and staffing excellent hosts as usual! It is such a unique experience that we are willing to stay and make a weekend of it in the Cooperstown area. This is an ADULT activity...LOL!

I went on a blues train ride and it was one of my best nights in cooperstown. The live band played on a outdoor train car so we danced under the stairs. There was a bar and a place to buy snacks and pizza. My friends and i had a great night.
