Beautiful Trip

Beautiful relaxing trip on lake. Would have been better if there was someone more available to answer questions.

Went for the tour on the last day of the season. Beautiful scenery and fall foliage. The captain narrates the first part of the voyage, then lets you just enjoy the ride. Drinks & food were available but we did not have so I can't speak to the price. Tour was definitely worth the price.

We visited Cooperstown mid-August 2015. After lunch we moseyed on down the road to the Cooperstown's Lakefront Hotel where the Glimmerglass Queen is docked. Because it was a weekday, there were plenty of spaces left on the 1:00pm cruise! We purchased our tickets ($16 each) for the narrated, hour-long cruise. The boat was immaculate and nicely furnished with canvas director... More

If you are in Cooperstown, you must spend an hour on Lake Ostega aboard the Glimmerglass Queen! The lake is gorgeous and getting to see Cooperstown and the surrounding areas from the water is priceless. The captain and crew were delightful; the captain even insisted on sharing her sunscreen with my husband because she was afraid he was going to... More

I am sorry to rate something without actually having done it, but wanted to give some hopefully useful information to those considering the boat trip. We had put an extra day into our trip to take a tour of the lake. Glimmerglass Queen is the only boat available. It only goes out at 11,1 and 3 pm and only if... More

You cannot buy tickets in advance, so you have to come back in time for when the booth opens. You also need to come back early enough to get in line so that the tickets don't sell out, or you wandered around town for no reason. So you end up waiting 45 minutes in very hot sun, standing, as there... More

You are correct with a few things: it's was hot and we do not sell tickets in advanced. We advise everyone to arrive 15 minutes prior to tour time. The maximum capacity for the boat is 50 people which is observed at all time for the safety of all passengers. Should we sell 50 tickets we do stop selling for... More

I was there with a group from work with special needs. We had two walkers and a wheelchair. Staff were great accommodating our needs. Two women took the lady on the wheelchair on first then assisted staff with the two ladies using the walkers. The boat is clean and fairly new. There is a brief narrative history then just a... Nice way to spend an hour. Scenic cruise on lovely Otsego Lake. Small taped guide then just sit back and enjoy the scenery.

Living near by, I had always wanted to take this tour on the lake. The boat is very clean and well maintained. Be aware cash only...which we had known. Try to park in the NY state lot next to the boat/hotel property (free), or pay for one of the village spots ($2 hour - change or CC). We went on... More

Our hour-long tour was extended by about 15 minutes as there was a fire at a building up the lake and the captain wanted to check it out. It was very hot on the open upper deck, so DH and I went down to the enclosed lower deck, which also was very warm. A little air conditioning would be good.... More
