The village of Cooperstown is out in the middle of nowhere and the Ommegang brewery isn't any closer to a big city, but in my mind it's worth the trip. Since it is not a small, craft brewery, the main building is plenty big enough to host a goodly number of people. The tours and tastings are done on a... More

This was the 4th and probably the last time I will take the tour (all of my family members have now been here). In the past, one could get surprisingly close to the process, standing right next to the brewing tank, stepping over the hoses, getting close to the bottling. Now one stands in a marked square in the middle... More

First-The Avett brothers are incredible. CONS-The venue was absolutely horrible for the following reasons: + Lack of vendors. We were advised not to bring in any food and were told in an email from the venue that there would be plenty of vendors. My 7 month pregnant wife had to throw out her water before going into the venue. The... More

Took a weekend trip to see our favorite band(Avett Bros) with John Prine. Excellent concert, but I had to write about the venue to clarify a few things- First, the concert tickets via a promoter (Dan Smalls Presents) were relatively inexpensive-that's why we made the trip up. The lay of the land facing the stage is very good- slight slope... More

We went to the John Prine/Avett Brothers concert. Great place to see a concert. Beer was good as was the barbeque. Very enjoyable and the portable bathrooms were clean...for most of the night. Go and have some fun.

Two family members and I decided to take in an outdoor concert at the brewery - a gig that cost me over $200. The concert was to start at 7:30 pm and we got within 2 miles of the venue by 6:30 pm and then a dead stop due to massive concert traffic and absolutely no police or other traffic... More

Great place to visit. Tour or taste, do whatever is open first. Just get your tickets as soon as you arrive. Tasting includes pretzels with cheese spreads, jams and aiolo spreads. Flight of five flavors, plus you get to keep the souvenir glasses. The bar/restaurant has more flavors. We loved the fruity Belgium, fruitesse.

Went at the very beginning of the season. We had no wait for our tour and were actually the only ones on it. I've been on better tours, but really the brewing process is not that much different between breweries. Had our own private tasting. We then had lunch in the restaurant. If you really want control of what you... More

We stopped for lunch and the tour/tasting. Lunch was delicious casual fare. The tour was informative, but somewhat brief (perhaps because it was a Sunday and no brewing going on). The tasting was really good, with generous portions given the low $5 cost.

Was there over Memorial Day weekend. Would have had to wait 3 hours for at tour so skipped it. Did do the tasting (only waited 1 1/2 hours for that). Wished I would have skipped the tasting and bought a flight as I would have chosen different beers to taste. At the tasting, you had no choice of beers so... More
