Ommegang is primarily known for one thing: making fantastic beer. I caught wind of the fact that the brewery was worth a visit and planned a trip up to Cooperstown. The setting is beautiful, quite different from many breweries located in strip malls or the industrial outskirts of cities. We chose to forego the tour but it appeared to be... More

We have tried to eat lunch there many times but it has always been too long a wait. We finally came at a quiet time and sat outside. It was absolutely disgusting- flies everywhere. My daughter ended up with welts from them and could not eat her meal she was so grossed out. The waitstaff could care less about the... More

I've been to several breweries and this by far was the best one! For starters, the location itself is impressive. It's nestled in the valleys on pristine farmland. You can just imagine yourself relaxing in the yard and drinking a beer. The structure itself is also an interesting architectural site. We went anticipating a tour, tasting, and meal. We arrived... Amazing place and a definitely a place not to miss while in the area. Absolutely stunning facility - brewery housed in an old barn - surrounded by beautiful open fields, some planted in hops. Very nice restaurant on grounds with very delicious food (don't miss the mussels cooked in beer or the fries with dipping sauces). Tour of facilities very... More

Stopped on our way to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Beer tasting was fun. Didn't go on a tour as we arrived at 1:00 and the next tour wasn't until 3:15. Did have lunch there. The chicken and waffles were great. I would highly recommend trying them out along with your favorite beer.

Ommegang is worth a visit - there's a nice restaurant, fun tasting, and quick little tour that can easily fill a couple of hours. If it's a nice day there's also some nice, relaxed seating outdoors. If things are busy (as they were the day we went) it can be pretty frustrating to try to time a tour, meal and... More

Decided to visit the brewery. Arrived around noon which seem to be the best time since it got really crowded around 1:30. Tasting is $3 and you get a small sample glass and taste 6 beer samples along with pretzels and a lot of their dips. Also get to smell and see what goes into the beer - hops, etc.... More

Tour was disappointing; don't really see much of plant and its loud. Beer tasting was the best; you get to try 5 or 6 of their brews and can purchase them right there to take home.

This was my first time visiting the brewery after hearing about it from a friend. We camped out on the grounds for a concert and it was a great experience. All of the staff was great, friendly and very helpful. Their beer was being severed at $5 a cup which I thought was reasonable. They also had great food choices... More
