My wife and I went to Glimmerglass State Park on the scenic Lake Otsego. There is a great beach from which I launched my kayak. There are modern, clean rest rooms and picnic areas.

The campsite is like a circular space with a picnic table that could seat 6 (8 putting chairs on each end), a spot for a tent, and a hole in the ground with a large grill over it. The grill is low to the ground, not one that stands upright to cook on. There are other sites right near each... More

We visited this park to hike its two mile trail on the shoulders of sleeping mountain -- a wide, well-maintained loop trail throughout, with a few hundred feet of altitude change, more gradual and a bit less steeper going up than coming down -- so the farther starting point, where there is parking at the trailhead, is the place to... We spent an afternoon exploring this gem of a state park while visiting the Cooperstown area. There is something for everyone here - some impressive history for the history buffs, nice trails for the nature lovers, up to date playgrounds for the kids, primitive camping sites for the outdoorsy types, lots of picnic tables and clean up to date bathroom... We spent a half day at the lake in Glimmerglass State Park and had an amazing time. We barbecued on the lawn, where there was a ton of room for families to sit and eat, as well as play around. The park has a concession stand and beach area, which is really nice, and the bathrooms were very clean throughout... More

Went here for an afternoon on our last day in the area. I am glad that I did, It was a sight to see. Weather wasn't very agreeable, but the kids had fun playing around. You will need to bring charcoal if you want to cook out. Grill aren't very big but no big deal for us. You can't get... More

Views to die for!!! Sandy beach, great life guards, to watch to the unruly....Quiet, trees, wonderful water...Superb setting to sit and contemplate life. The week-ends get busy, but the crowds are usually polite and quiet. There are places to grill, although there is a cafe there. One can shower as well.

A truly beautiful park. We did a bit of online reasearch for the best beach as my daughter wanted to play on the sand. I am so glad we picked this park. It was really clean and the views were beautiful. They have the lake divided into sections and only had one section open. There were people there but it... More

Nice clean lake and picnic area. Great place to take a day trip with the family. We truly enjoyed our day at the park with our family. Close to home -- worth the trip.

My husband & I camped there last week. It is a beautiful campground with clean facilities and spacious sites (most of them anyhow). We tent camped on site #6 - close enough to the bathrooms but not too close. We camped during the week so it was mostly quiet. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely camp... More
