The beach is clean and there looks like a lot to do! There are historical sites, hiking trails, camp ground, snack bars, and sport activities.

We stayed here for 4 days and nights while in the Cooperstown area. Due to it being shortly after the induction ceremonies at the Baseball Hall of Fame, and just before the big beer festival at Brewery Ommengang (Belgium Comes to Cooperstown), hotel prices were rather high. So we opted to camp at this State Park instead. It cost us... More

Glimmerglass State Park is one of my favorite state parks. In its own way, it has everything. There's hiking available year round, both in the woods and the grass fields that are adjacent to the lake. There's swimming in the summer, and camping and fishing as well. If you want a quiet day away from it all, a great time... More

Nice place to camp. Shelters and tent camping, with fire pits. Peaceful and uncrowded when we were there. There's a really nice hiking trail that goes up to the top of a hill and back around to a mansion that's being restored. Makes for a nice afternoon walk, a good workout, but not too strenuous.

We spent the afternoon hiking with views of the lake and the fall foliage. It was great and worth doing.

Great location - beach area is small, but good. Plenty of parking and trails to walk on. Very family oriented. We visited in the fall, so there was no swimming or charge to walk around.

This place was expensive to get into, and once we arrived, there was only a muddy "beach" with warm water and TONS of swimmers. You are also only allowed to swim in the roped lifeguarded area, so you really can't avoid the crowds. If you want a more relaxed setting, rent a kayak from a boatyard on the lake and... More

We stopped by for a hike & short drive exploring the park. The hike was not worth the effort on the muddy trails that are evidently shared by horses. The view near the lake was nice but since there was construction going on even that was a bit disappointing

We decided to visit upstate New York on a whim. We were extremely happy with our choice though. Glimmerglass State Park has beautiful views. We visited in mid September and had the place almost to ourselves. It was fantastic. Loved it!

Came during the week after Labor Day weekend, the very start of thee locals "off season". Wasn't aware the beach is closed to swimmers during the off season, it was still warm enough to swim, but we didn't. Due to this, we drove right in without having to pay any fee. We parked by one of the trails and walked,... More
