We always enjoy our time on Lake Ostego. We love the Baseball Hall of Fame and Cooperstown's delightful museums, but the area would be a draw for us even if the lake was the only area attraction. Rent a kayak or take the guided tour. Enjoy a lakeside meal while you bask in the summer sun and are refreshed by... More

They don't call it Glimmerglass without reason! It's gorgeous and pristine----boat, kayak, canoe, fish, and swim. It is a sizeable enough lake yet easy to navigate for a nice afternoon's cruise....

Great Lake for boating, beach and dining. We drove around the whole lake and enjoyed the area near Otsego hotel plus Glimmerglass Park.

This 10 mile long lake deserves the name Glimmerglass conferred by James F. Cooper. On sunny, calm days the lake glimmers with a beautiful green sheen. On windy days there's a good amount of chop and white caps: fun if you're a strong paddler. It's ideal for kayaking, canoeing, other boating, fishing, swimming. As a kayaker, I didn't feel overrun... This is a fantastic lake with clean water, not over populated with boats. Perfect setting for kayaking, canoeing, and just relaxing and watching the sunrise over the lake each morning.

This is a fantastic lake to go boating on. Water was in the 70's but felt great. The lake has a blue green color and is very clean, in fact, Cooperstown gets their drinking water from the lake. One spot in the middle of the lake is even shallow enough to stand in.
