Stunning all the way around

The trip up 80 was much more scenic than the other side. We did both. We stopped several places along 80 and took pictures. Can wait to down load them. Simply stunning

I grew up on this lake, spending summers here for years as a kid. Compared to the lakes I visit now, in CT, Otsego Lake has much lower traffic and is also far calmer, being in a narrow valley. The water here is also very clean and clear.

Almost anywhere you are on this lake there are fantastic views. The serenity is wonderful and if you are looking for peace of mind, this is the place to be. Have lunch on the porch at Otesaga resort, overlooking the lake, or enjoy the art at Fenimore Art Museum, with a view of the lake there. If you are traveling... More

We were 4 adult and 3 children and we rented a pontoon boat at Sam's, right near the Blue Mingo restaurant. The boat was great and we loved our few hours on the beautiful lake. We went swimming too, though without a ladder it was really hard to get back in the boat. Fortunately my daughter had her paddle board... More

We walked to the Ostego Lake front from the Baseball Hall of Fame. It is a short block down the hill. There were several sailboats out on the lake and it was a nice place to have our picnic lunch. Later we viewed the lake from the other side.

Beautiful, picturesque and a great place to have a picnic lunch. We stopped by to view the lake during a recent trip to Cooperstown in August.

Beautiful lake, boat rentals, people watching, As much or as little as you want to do. We had spectacular weather and can't wait to come back again.

This pristine lake is surrounded by emerald green mountains, and because the shoreline is so underdeveloped, it has light boat traffic. I have been told that 80% of the shoreline is owned in perpetuity by a charitable foundation, suppressing development. Too bad that our visit corresponded to 90 degree temperatures, so being on the lake was less pleasant that it... More

What a beautiful, large lake. The scenery at the lake is lovely. The color of the lake is amazing. You can take a boat ride or bring your own boat and launch it at different sites.

Beautiful, 10-mile long lake, pure water, very wide and long, can ride around it with your car if you have the time; lots of quant houses, wide space never to be developed due to a philanthropist in town, not over-used or crowded due to its size.
