IN the summer there are great places to explore like Sam Smith's boatyard and Blue Mingo Restaurant. The Glimmerglass state park is wonderful and you can cruse by the Glimmerglass Opera, and then back to the dock at the Otesaga for a drink.

The lake seemed to have shut down for the season, but the views from the docks are incredible. Lake would be an absolute hit in the summer!

10 miles of lake and each mile offers amazing views.... The lake wraps around the Village of Cooperstown and saw some nice restaurants by the waterfront!... Not much time to enjoy its beauty but will be back in summer

Many people who visit Cooperstown NY come to see the Baseball Hall of Fame and many visitors have no idea that there is a gorgeous lake blocks away. It is exceptionally clean, has crystal clear water and is spring fed. Whether you fish, boat, water ski or just take in the majestic mountain views this lake should be at the... More

Went down to the lakeside from downtown Cooperstown. From the Hall of Fame, I went down Main street away from the town center and took a right just before the bridge. Was a quick 2 minute drive. At the end of the street there was a park where there was a council rock (indian meeting place) in the water. But... More

There was nothing we liked more than sitting on the Adirondack chairs and watching the lake activity. The boat lady is a must. Take a book or your nook and enjoy the sun and lake waters.

Otsego Lake is breathtaking. Surrounded by trees and lakefront homes, this is a beautiful place to go in summer and Fall. It is a large lake---and we were so impressed with the water---we could see fish swimming quite deep down, the water was so clear! There is a tour boat, and canoes and small boats can be rented, too. There... More

It was beautiful and breathtaking. We drove around the lake and you should take lots of pictures of all the colors on the trees.

Otsego or "Glimmerglass" LAke is located in the "Leatherstockings Region" of upstate NY. It's waters are a picturesque blue green surrounded by rolling hills. At one time this area was the source of hops for the beer brewed by the famous Busch family. At the south end is Cooperstown- a quaint village and home to the Baseball Hall of Fame.... More
